The whereabouts of a local woman who went missing last week remain unknown as of Monday morning, April 6.

*****
Chief Deputy Randy Noviskie of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office told the Record last Friday that the Texas Rangers are now involved in the investigation. The Austin County Sheriff’s Office recovered her vehicle in Austin County on Saturday. The Texas Rangers are searching the vehicle for evidence, Noviskie said.

Following linked article / video is an interview with her 23-year-old son. He said that his 20-year-old sister called him and said that their mother hadn't come home. They thought that maybe she had gone somewhere with their aunt and her phone died, but when she wasn't home the next morning to take their 11-year-old and 17-year-old siblings to school, they knew something was wrong and they called LE.

"She's always been nice. Everybody at work loves her, she wouldn't harm anyone. My parents have had their differences, but they're both good people," Vera (Her son, Carlos) said.

Ortiz-Zuniga's car was found in Austin County, but there was no sign of her.

He says the whole ordeal has been hard for him and his younger siblings. He and his 20-year-old sister are helping to care for their 17- and 11-year-old siblings.

"We got to step up, take care of our siblings, and then take care for bills and everything else," he said.

They just want their mother to return safely.

The whole statement is interesting. She wouldn’t harm anyone? Why would anyone assume she would? Hope she comes home to her kids!

Fayette is one of those countis that doesn't have a setup to search records online, either civil or otherwise. So I couldn't check to see if there had been any domestic issues reported for her. The fact that the Rangers are involved, and she is listed as "endangered" to me means there's a LOT that's not being said right now. Yes, they do missing persons investigations, but aren't normally called in the average missing person case. Rangers investigate (from Ranger Responsibilities | Department of Public Safety )
  • Murder, robbery, sexual assault, burglary and theft
  • Fraud and bank fraud, credit card and computer fraud and theft
  • Misconduct by public officials
  • Threats against the state and federal governments
  • Missing persons cases
  • Border surveillance, information gathering and security
Hopefully theycan get some forensic evidence from her vehicle.

TV tells us that those closest to the victim are the first suspects that need to be ruled out. I suspect these comments come after they've been interviewed by LE about possible explanations for her absence and those questions they were probably asked are still very present in their minds when giving these statements to press. Did your mom have any enemies or disputes with anyone? How did she and your dad get along? etc.

From that link:

Numerous first responders, including some wearing white haz-mat suits, were at the scene on Coufal Rd. around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The location was about 100 yards west of Sykora Rd. Around the same time, other law enforcement personnel were at a residence on FM 955 south of Fayetteville, where they were loading a pickup onto a tow truck.

No, Fayette County TX doesn't have a county medical examiner. A google search leads you to believe they do, but the person they listed is actually a coroner (not the same as a medical examiner) in Fayette Co. Pennsylvania. So, it's likely the remains will be viewed by the medical examainer in another county, and given that, as well as it was just a holiday weekend (statiscally, there always seems to be more deaths due to increased travel and travel fatalities) there may be a wait for identification.

while this headline says the body found was Vivi's the body of the article does not suggest the body found has been positively identified as Vivi. Prayers for her loved ones, the waiting must be hard.

Likely Travis County since it's near Austin. I don't believe Travis County has online records from the medical examiner either.

her last public post is
made on March 17th.

Lyrics translated:

I must've done something right in a past life
So you'd look at me the way you do
And I don't know if I deserved it
But I dreamed of someone like you every day

Someone with your eyes and your smile
Who takes their time when it comes to love
Who knows exactly what they want
And appreciates what they have

'Cause a love like this, like this, like this
Like the one you give me is hard to find
I couldn't believe it myself
I hit the jackpot
Just by seeing you, I recognized you
I asked for you at Christmas, and it came true
I welcome you
You look like the love of my life

Someone with your eyes and your smile
Who takes their time when it comes to love
Who knows exactly what they want
And appreciates what they have

I live in this town so if anyone has questions about the layout or anything like that at all, let me know. I'll help as much as I can. Fayetteville is a very small town, about 300 or so of us. We're really just want justice for Viviana.

that's not abnormal - some husbands don't want their pictures on FB (mine included)
Agreed, my husband doesn't want to be on my FB and I never post photos of my granddaughters for their safety and privacy. You will find 47,000 photos of my dog, though.

I don't believe they've confirmed whether the body found was Viviana yet or not. Our small town only has a coroner.

Many coroners aren't medical doctors as it's usually an elected position. So for a identification for remains that may be part of a crime they're definately going to wait for an ME that's also a M.D. IMO.
