Lankford was last seen in the Camilla area of Coldspring, Texas on September 6, 2008. He has never been heard from again. His family reported him missing to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office on November 25, 2008.

Deputies learned Lankford was last seen in San Jacinto County and referred his family members to San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office to file the missing person report. After the report was completed with San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office, family members were referred back to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for follow-up investigation since Lankford's last known address was in Conroe, Texas. Details of Disappearance​

Lankford was last seen in the Camilla area of Coldspring, Texas on September 6, 2008. He has never been heard from again. Few details are available in his case.

Hi Elton is my cousin. This case is very strange. No one knows for sure what happened leading up to his disappearance. His wife has gone underground and refused to answer any questions regarding his disappearance before leaving the area. Last update we had was from his youngest daughter, at the time she stated “my mom and brothers put daddy in a freezer and put the freezer in the pond. The pond has been searched and nothing was found, however his wife was given notice the police were coming to dredge the pond. Any ideas what we can do from here would be greatly appreciated. We know there is little chance he is still alive but we would like to be able to lay him to rest.
