According to the affidavit, the victim is a black female and "had been friends with Mache for a long time", who apparently was the chief wrongdoer and instigator.

I hope they all get what they deserve, though it still won't be enough, IMO.

Interestingly, the affidavit states that the victim was "spiritually abused" and that they "made fun of her religion". I’m very curious about this aspect, especially after seeing Michelle's FB.

Oh My Lanta That is an awful awful read.

Her injuries are horrible. Hundreds of scars from theBBs. Sections of torn flesh, deep wounds from the too tight cuffs, Black eye swollen shut, bruises from being struck with a bat.

She apparently once lived in the home with her captors but had been living "outside" of that address since approximately July. She was a resident there in that home for approximately 10 years prior to being forced outside for her torture. This woman is mentally ill, if the accused can be believed. To me the victim's described behaviors sound as if she may be bipolar 1 with schizoaffective features or schizophrenic. The victim told investigators that she knew she had been diagnosed with bipolar and maybe some other stuff. When they decided to kick her out of the house and restrain her in the backyard they say she agreed, as it was the only way they would allow her to stay. Clearly it can be debated if this victim even had the capacity to agree to such a thing.

I am betting the member who posted upthread that this household was taking and using the victim's government benefits is probably correct. If they didn't want her there anymore or her mental health rooted behaviors bothered them or the neighbors they could simply evict her and be done with it. But they chose to restrain and torture her - for months. I think their motivation must have been twofold. A handy scapegoat to harm and humiliate, and monetary gain.
