SAN ANTONIO – An Amber Alert has been issued for a San Antonio 3-year-old girl who was last seen on Monday.

San Antonio police said Zanyah Rita Lucio is believed to be in grave or immediate danger. She was wearing a pink tank top, pink pajama pants with rainbows and hearts, and did not have shoes on.

Zanyah’s description:

• Hispanic
• Brown hair
• Brown eyes
• 3 feet 4 inches tall
• 38 poounds

A 20-year-old woman named Gabriella K. Lucio is wanted in connection to Zanyah’s abduction.

Suspect description:

• Black and red hair
• Brown eyes
• 4 feet 11 inches tall
• Multiple tattoos

Police believe Zanyah Lucio, 3, was abducted by her biological mother on Monday night, who is not suppose to have her, and is in grave or immediate danger.

UPDATE AT 11:43 A.M. - San Antonio Police said during a news conference that the grandmother was laying down in bed with Zanyah when she heard a noise. She opened the door to investigate and Gabriella Lucio was in the house. Gabriella then allegedly pushed her down and forcefully took Zanyah from the bed. Gabriella fled on foot with Zanyah. No word on where Gabriella would be going with Zanyah.

When police arrived, the grandmother was still lying on the ground. She was treated by EMS and is expected to be alright. Gabriella had lost custody of Zanyah and the girl was living with her grandmother.

UPDATE on Tuesday, May 6 at 9 a.m.: The San Antonio Police Department said on Tuesday that they believe the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Gabriella Kathleen Lucio, climbed in through a window of an apartment to kidnap 3-year-old Zanyah Lucio. SAPD has issued a warrant for Lucio's arrest on a charge of kidnapping. See previous story below.
