Lilibet, you are so right! I know we are all itching to discuss all this rapid succession developments, and that we are all worried about this lovely young gal. But you are right, we can only discuss info that is verified. This is serious stuff, with lives hanging in the balance, and we need to discuss this with the solemnity that a matter of this gravity deserves. The POI has not been arrested, and since he has not spoken we don't know his status. He's still a young man; I hope this doesn't end poorly for him either.

Logic tells me this isn't going to end well for either RF or Zuzu. But as long as no earthly remains have been recovered I am going to follow the request of Zuzu's mother and "pray for a miracle".
And that I am.

Do you think I should change RF's name to initials in the timeline? I don't want to break the rules but his name HAS been reported by the press so I thought it was ok to name him now...Sorry if I broke the rule. I'm usually cautious and reminding everyone else to not get carried away.

A little OT, but not really. This is for anyone who is a hardcore, detail-oriented sleuther and wants to learn how to use Google Maps and Google Earth more effectively for sleuthing. Sasquatch posted these instructions a few years ago, so some things might have changed, but the basics are here. He used his skills in several cases and gave the evidence to LE. The latest one I know of is when the McStay family graves were found in the desert. He's a treasure!

A big THANK U for re-posting this info Lilibet.....and another big THANK U to Sasquatch for taking the time to compile all this info. I can't tell you how many times I have followed a thread while everyone else is sleuthing maps and I lag behind because I have no idea how to use google maps and am too embarrassed to ask for direction. I've always been so impressed at how everyone else can zoom in on an address and 'see' the geography. And Skibaboo you are a master at creating maps and I am totally in awe of your skills. After I study this tutorial down the road I might be able to actually utilize the benefits of your skills!

The Verk family seem to be so closely knit and have such a tight bond to each other. What an impressive family. My heart breaks for them and I pray they receive answers soon. Zuzu is such a beautiful girl and special person.

After making the timeline I am really amazed at the number of agencies involved and the variety of search methods they have been using. Ones that really give me pause--DEA and Homeland Security? Are they only involved because of proximity to the border?

And the reward rising to $100,000--at first I thought perhaps her family had raised that much but while the has raised almost double their goal--it was still less than $10,000 when I last checked. So that reward amount has either come from the government or from private, unnamed sources. I wonder what the motivation was for such a high reward so quickly? Big fish connected with her disappearance? Will there be other women rescued from human trafficking when they find her? Or a big drug smuggling operation taken down because of the search for Zuzu?

It's simply astounding how fast this is moving and how much man power has been devoted to finding Zuzu so far. I'm sitting here praying that it doesn't slow down, that the search doesn't fizzle out, that the leads don't dry up. I'm praying that they find her soon and bring to justice whomever made her disappear.

Good thinking. There are so many vehicles, and what now seems like a cast of thousands. Who knows how this will end up. Best to wait until LE announces arrests. I would hate for us to throw around the name of someone who (by a slim chance) isn't the Perp after all. One thing I've learned on this forum is that anything can happen...and does!

I think that your timeline obviated exactly how many special resources are being brought in to this case. Yes, I would agree with you that "something bigger" is being investigated. Pure speculation only, but because of the nature of the POIs occupation, drugs would be a rational speculation. All of these vehicles and all of this driving around does hint at something transactional. SPECULATION and OPINION only. One thing is for certain, LE has "got this", and I know we will hear of arrests as soon as those lab results come back.

It also occurred to me that the fast growth of the reward money could just have something to do with the Verks. I don't know much about them or who they work for, but there is a LOT of money in Texas. It may be that friends, employers, etc have put up this money. I don't think I've ever seen a reward this large accumulate this fast. It actually worried me that whoever had information might think that holding out longer would gain an even bigger reward.

But then again, the involvement of agencies like Homeland Security, etc does make my mind run in the same track as yours. And yes, LE has definitely "got this."

I dont know that I would read too much into the various agencies all working together. This is a small border town. A Texaswanderer said, DHS is a very common site. Our local, state and federal agencies work together quiet well across the state. It would be unheard of if all law enforcement resources didnt get involved.

RE: the reward money. I am sure Zuzu's parents have pooled all of their resources to bump the reward money in hopes someone comes forward sooner than later. I know thats what I would do. Especially when there isnt any (obvious) evidence of her being dead. The sooner someone is enticed by the money and comes forward then the better chance of finding Zuzu before its too late.

Thats good to know. In my experience smaller, isolated communities anywhere with small police forces are usually assisted in big cases when needed, and it usually is needed. When the shooting happened last year at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg OR two hours away, local LE in our area sent assistance. No single LE Department in a small town is capable of handling major crime events. Cooperation is crucial.

The reward money has probably been boosted by the employer Mr Verk thanked in the press conference. I'm not sleuthing the family. I'm not naming the employer. His employer is very big in Texas. I can't say more than that.

I think RF was the one getting in and out of vehicles and they are looking for stuff from his shoes, from their tires. This LE team is diligent and impressive. I bet cadaver dogs are being used on every one of these cars.
