Tyler was last seen in Peru, Nebraska on December 3, 2010 after attending an off-campus party. Five days later, Joshua Keadle, 29, was arrested for false reporting and tampering with evidence. Keadle reportedly had a reputation on campus for sexually harassing women. Another woman came forward and stated that he had previously driven her to a remote spot near the Missouri River, and threatened to kill her if she did not have sex with him. Keadle later admitted that he had sexual relations with Tyler the night she disappeared. An extensive search has turned up no sign of her.
