U.S. declares drought-stricken states largest natural disaster area ever

Florida prior to Tropical Storm Debby was in a drought.

Hi HMS, I was just agreeing with Dark Knight. The original story looks to be from 7/11/12 (yesterday) and so Florida shouldn't be included because we are not in drought conditions right now. It does appear to be a "doom and gloom" story.

2004 and 2005 were real anomalies. 2004 was actually an El Nino season. 2005 was Neutral heading into La Nina. El Nino seasons are usually less active with the exception of 1969 and 2004.

That must be East Coast.

Here on the West Coast, our wettest years are the El Nino years.
