[h=2]Abedi was a student at the University of Salford[/h]
The university has issued a statement from Sam Grogan, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Student Experience:
All at the University of Salford are shocked and saddened by the events of last night. Our thoughts are with all those involved, their families and their friends. We have provided, and continue to provide, support to all students and staff who have been affected. We can confirm that Salman Abedi was a student of the University. In an unrelated incident there was an evacuation of three buildings as a precautionary measure for a short period of time earlier this evening. We have returned to business as usual."

I have to say I feel nothing for the family of the bomber. My concerns and prayers are fully with the victims and their families only.
I have equal concern for all of the victims. And for me, that includes the bomber's family members who do not support this extremist killing.

Luckily the U.K. Has national healthcare which means most should be covered. Not sure about counselling though

Sadly the mental health services are overstretched, but can still be very good on the NHS and I imagine these children will definitely be bumped up the queue, most schools also have free counselling, as do universities

One of the bombers family members has been arrested and the others are in Libya, so I would rather reserve my thoughts for those close to home still in Manchester hospitals and morgues and their grieving friends and relatives. Did anyone ever express concern for the families of the 9/11 terrorists or 7/7 bombers? I do not remember that.

Wow.

The 22-year-old attacker, described as an abrasive, tall, skinny young man who was often seen in traditional Islamic clothing, was heard 'chanting prayers loudly in the street' outside his home in the south of the city.
........................................................

My sympathies to the victims and their families and friends of the Manchester concert bombing.

The UK has a serious problem here, I would like to think they will address it but a nagging feeling tells me it is too late for that.

What was it Mayor Khan said?

Sadiq Khan has said he believes the threat of terror attacks are “part and parcel of living in a big city” and encouraged Londoners to be vigilant to combat dangers.

I'm not interested in a debate. We all have the freedom to feel our feelings. You are entitled to yours. I think we can all agree that this is a senseless tragedy and many people are in pain.

Maybe proceeds could help with the medical bills and mental health treatment for victims and survivors.

I'm with you, terrorist family is not my concern at all, hell they will probably get paid. Happened before.

Of course. It's difficult to debate feelings anyway.

I always love to hear of people in the aftermath of an attack, how they helped. It touches me warms my heart.

We can be so good! Why do we have these bad apples among us?

Noticed the title of the thread, where there two bombs? I haven't seen anything after that there were.

My feeling is this was not a "senseless tragedy" which makes this terroristic attack almost sound like an accident.
This was no accident--there was an agenda.

I'm sorry for the confusion, I agree with you. I said senseless because it doesn't make sense to me why anyone would want to attack so many people (or anyone at all). I never meant to imply that it was an accident. It was an evil, planned attack. Is that clearer?

I mentioned that earlier today. It did actually come true as the second explosion was controlled by LE at the bomber's residence.
