Sandy Hook, to you.

Little Saffie's face is staring out from most newspaper front pages.

I know it's very hard and upsetting knowing the little angel is no longer with us. It's hard seeing photos of all the victims, they wont be forgotten. I can't sleep worrying about possible future attacks this summer mostly likely in Europe.

There's a great article somewhere I read about a woman who went undercover online as a possible isis recruit iirc...creepcrusher the story is similar, half asleep, marking spot to find and post tomorrow...

Foxfire tal I ed a lot about the ISIS online recruitment process. I actually sent him an article about the heavy duty codes they operate behind...zzzz

That's what I was wondering at first. She was single and I read they were trying to recruit women or groom them. Not sure if this was the case. His non- American Facebook page was awful though. Pictures of Americans flying in the air after the Boston marathon bomb went off. He and his friends were joking about all of it in the comments.

He messaged her off of his American profile- not the other one. The American profile was clean.

It's not a partisan political anti-US slam. It's a fact. Sometimes people are comforted by perspective. Like you're more likely to drown in your own tub than be killed by a shark. It can help with anxiety to remember what's true and real.

Could we leave this kind of talk for the political forum and not dirty up this one--which is about the victims of this horrible attack.

"A Polish couple who had arrived at Manchester Arena to pick up their children have been confirmed as dead.

Angelika and Marcin Klis
took a selfie together in the city centre shortly before going to the concert to pick their daughters up.

Polish Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski said on Wednesday: "The parents came after the concert to collect their daughters and unfortunately we have information that they are dead.

Their daughters are safe. I am so sorry for them I cannot imagine losing both parents at the same time in such tragic circumstances.

May Angelika and Marcin Klis Rest In Peace.

I agree. And about catching the perps. SA must have had help and I believe one brother has been arrested and so that leaves one brother still here IMO. I am concerned therefore of the threat of that and it explains the increase of the threat level to critical.

I was woken by my son this morning to say that his friend has been confirmed as dead, as the early hours rolled on more confirmation came through that others have suffered the same. My prayers and thoughts are with his family and all the other families that have been so cruelly affected by this.

The Royal Manchester Childrens hospital where the most seriously injured 12 under 16 year olds are being treated put out an alert last night that they had run out of food and drink, they had been feeding the families of the injured children as they don't want to leave their loved ones, within an hour they had to pull the alert because local restaurants had turned up as had the people of Manchester and the hospital coudn't cope with the amount that had been donated.

There has been 25k raised so far for the two homeless men who helped the injured and dying.
There has been 500k raised so far for the victims and their families

These are just some of the examples of people coming together and this is why these people won't beat us.

French foreign minister made a comment that the bomber may have travelled to Libya (BBC radio news). Now this is making me think he maybe didn't fly and could have brought the stuff via land transport. Otherwise why is the French minister commenting? JMO.
Eta . Have checked online and Telegraph source states Syria not Libya.

I AM SORRY about your son's friend. :rose:

It is so nice to read about the generosity shown to the two homeless heroes who ran towards the smoke and helped the victims. I was really hoping they would be recognized for their kindness and be offered some good jobs and some help.

Manchester has really pulled together and stayed strong. :star:

Thank you for your kind words.

More details are coming out this morning about the bomber he was know to security services and and had just returned from Libya very recently

It was also claimed last night that he had travelled by train from London to Manchester on Monday in advance of the attacks.

It raised suspicions that he may have met co-conspirators or been supplied with his explosive device by an as-yet-unidentified bombmaker
.

Abedi was friends with Raphael Hostey, also known as Abu Qaqa al-Britani, who served as an ISIS recruiter until he was killed in 2016 in Syria by a drone strike.

They were said to be family friends and it is feared Hostey may have helped radicalise Abedi.

Police yesterday recovered CCTV of Abedi striding into the Manchester Arena with what officers believe was a home-made bomb

Amid a series of other revelations, it was claimed that his father – an airport security officer – had left the UK to fight in Libya.

Sources also said his mother had raised concerns about her son’s radical views before she herself left for Libya.

He wouldn't need to smuggle anything from Libya, everything you need to make a bomb can be purchased in the UK.

BBM

Who would the father be fighting in Libya? Did he join the Libyan army to fight the dissidents maybe?

This is true one trip to a hairdressing supply shop for hydrogen peroxide and then the diy store for the shrapnel and detonater and you have the supplies fo the bomb.

He has strong family support and he also has some amazing friends, they have all been friends for over 10 years, their friend was part of this group so they have all come together to grieve, remember and celebrate the friendship they have all shared.

It's just too close to home and according to a twitter post allegedly by isis this morning, it's not over for us yet.

I'm so sorry. Glad there is a lot of support for the family and friends. Prayers...

I have just edited my original comment as Telegraph online source states Syria not Libya. I can't comment on the bomb making as I have no knowledge about that.
Edit. Could you possibly post your source for that info? TIA .
