I'm sure acting like petulent children will get people on their side. (eye roll)

Do people really not know how many things they use everyday are made with petroleum products.
Clothing, electronics, plastics, food can be preserved with fossil fuels, all forms of travel, asphalt, rubber, parafin wax, shoes, cosmetics, fertilizers, and so many more.

You can't fix stupid, I guess.

I don't even think I'd mind this, annoying as it is, if it made any sense. What does poor old Van Gogh have to do with climate change?

I think they should give up their phones. Then I might listen

Two women have denied causing criminal damage to the frame of one of Van Gogh's Sunflowers paintings.
The masterpiece had soup thrown at it in the National Gallery on Friday.
Anna Holland, 20, from Newcastle, and Phoebe Plummer, 21, from Lambeth, south-west London, pleaded not guilty when they appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court earlier.

This is one of the dumbest protests I've ever seen or heard of...

I think fools like those 2 should give up everything they own that has used or uses petroleum products no matter if in manufacture or like gasoline or diesel fuel.

Most these people are "do as i say not as i do" types it appears

Absolutely. But to be fair, I think that we as a human race are that way in one way or another, and there's nothing wrong with that. I know I'm a hypocrite, that's for sure! But the real tragedy here is that they weren't even creative enough to use chunky Ragu. If they were really passionate about their beliefs you'd think they'd at least think this out. Think about it, you wouldn't even have needed a can opener, it's just twist and splash.

The money they spent on their printed t shirts could have fed a family of four with a hot meal. Just sayin'...

I get their sentiment and enthusiasm but vandalizing a beloved painting just inflames people not shames them IMO. There's a reason why society preserves great works of art and music, why historic districts exist, why we grow heritage vegetables. It's about the larger community and the continuum of looking beyond ourselves.

Why not celebrate those who are doing good? Heck, start a YT channel that exposes the darker side of society. Teach us don't punish us! Oh wait, that would take thought and hard work. Never mind. SMDH. MOO.

I'd have more respect for them if they had pleaded guilty.

I highly respect peaceful protests, but this was a crime - in more than one way. One of the most famous Van Gogh paintings, really?

He used oil paints.

Ironically so did they when they had those t-shirts made. Both plastisol and water based inks used in screen printing contain petroleum products.

Idiots.
