I think it just makes no sense how he got her out the flat without 4 adults hearing a thing, so people started to believe maybe it was an inside job and he was telling the truth about Toni. It seems him taking the stand was his downfall though, I’ve read from a few journalists he came across as really cocky and arrogant with zero emotion in the witness box, I mean if I was on trial for raping and murdering a 6 year old and I didn’t do it, I would be in bits throughout that trial. He even leaned in as the pictures of aleshas body was shown, it’s just so disturbing
I know. There's no way a 16 year old would have the mental capacity to cope with the trial if he was innocent.

Just found another article. Just read it all, the last couple of lines are heartbreaking:
Alesha MacPhail's mum on horrifying moment she identified her daughter's body

So just came across this. Poor woman, i really hope she gets what she's looking for.

Heartbreaking to read. I feel so sorry for her. I totally understand her need for answers but I don't think she's going to get them. I think she's just going to put herself through more stress and struggle while Aaron won't admit what he's done and might not even meet with her. I really hope he doesn't toy with her. He's already been more than cruel.

It was a stv tv news interview on the internet with 2 journalists that covered the trial, I don’t know if you’ll still be able to watch it

They were mainly talking about his demeanour in court, at that point he hadn’t been named but he’d been found guilty. Was really interesting about 10 mins long

Hmm interesting, thanks for sharing. I don't think it's likely that AC will agree to a visit with Genie, but then again you never know, I didn't expect him to take the stand in court either. If he did let her visit him I am sure he would not give her answers...I think he likes to leave the 'mystery' to how he got her out the house etc and things like that.

Twitter

This shows a small clip of the interview I was talking about. I think the longer version isn’t available any more as it’s a few weeks old.

He might use the opportunity to tell more lies. Poor Toni too, I didn't realise all the family was doubting her. He’s a very powerful manipulator, I hope she doesn’t go to see him.

Wow that was heartbreaking to read. I hope she doesn’t ask him for visitation, he won’t accept I don’t think. Or he will accept then toy with her a few times. She should write a letter if anything, I still don’t think he will admit his guilt though. She is a strong girl for her age that’s for sure. I think at her age I would have been sourcing someone within Polmont to seriously harm him, or have someone intentionally get the jail to get him, by any means. Of course this isn’t the answer and she’s more wise than me, even at the age I am now, I would have to lash out some way. She’s an inspiration to Alesha, you can tell that little girl was loved.

Awful to read ,just heartbreaking . I fear too he would play G , mess her around with mind games and leave questions still unanswered . My thoughts are with the family as they navigate this unchartered path . This case has stirred up feelings of revulsion and anger in me and I don't know if I could have shown shown such dignity and restraint as A s family

I watched that, i remember them saying he leaned. It was broadcast on the night of the guilty verdict.

Yes. He likes having that bit of power.

Georgina is such a strong woman, she's clearly wise beyond her years and very dignified throughout this whole mess. I take my hat off to her.
I'm like you Edinlass, i would be lashing out and I'd possibly be seeking revenge in some way.
I think a visit will do more harm than good for her. I don't expect he'll give her answers although i hope Georgina will get what she needs to make her way through her grief
I think he became tearful when he was named in court because, up to that point he was protected to a certain extent and he was cocky and confident in that. Then he realised everything could change. Still can't believe he smiled at her. Sicko.

The smiling to the family as he was taken away could explain RMs outburst that the media reported on. He shouted ‘SCUM’ or words to those affect. The whole family are so dignified tbh if I really sit down and think about it, not everyone could keep their cool like that.

  • #234
I know i couldn't keep my cool. They've done Alesha proud, they've maintained dignity and composure throughout. RM's outburst in court is a natural reaction to the smiling sicko. Who could blame him.

I could see him granting approval for her to visit him and then when she turns up saying he's changed his mind just to toy with her.

I agree,or he will meet with her and tell her any number of lies that he has concocted,I am sure he has fantasized many ways to hurt the family even more since he has been locked away.
I think he will absolutely revel in all the power he holds, and his Snapchat comments about wondering how "they" got Alesha about of the house shows he desperately wants to show off how clever he is IMO,it's beyond horrific but I think the only person who will gain anything from Genie visiting AC is AC

So do you think that's why he took Alesha to that specific location? Because he knew that his friend walked her dog there and would possibly come across her? But maybe that's too much of a stretch. Professor David Wilson said he didn't believe he intended to kill Alesha originally, it was the guilt of having raped a child that caused him to snap and kill her afterwards, which would imply he didn't take her there to murder her in the first place. I don't know.

I think he went there because it was familiar territory, often the case with murderers.

Not sure re the friend/dog walking. Was he just trying to act like an innocent person, slightly horrified that a body had been found right where his friend walked each day - or was he genuinely surprised/disappointed because his friend had not discovered Alesha.

Yeah that’s the first time I’ve heard about him showing any emotion. The media didn’t report he was tearful when the judge decided to release his name, he’s shown no remorse only self pity.

I do remember they reported him as being upset when the Judge lifted the anonymity order - and I did wonder why it bothered him - as nothing else that far had seemed to be a concern to him.

Not wanting to offer any kind of support to AC, but I wonder if he had been given some form of medication to keep him calm and able to attend the trial ? That could have made him appear to have no strong emotions.

I have read before that Alesha was afraid of the dark, but hadn't thought about it too much previously.
But, reading it again, now makes me think it would be very unlikely that she would have wandered out into the stairwell at night - so, as strange as it seems, he must have got into the main flat and to her room.
Genie also says that Alesha would scream and shout if a stranger appeared - so I do think, at that point, he did something to keep her quiet.
The cctv footage also seems to back this up, it does not appear to show a child struggling - I think she was unconscious during this time.
