GUILTY UK - Alex Robinson, 9, murdered, Lincolnshire, 23 Dec 2014

The grandfather of 'cheeky but polite' Alex Robinson, aged 9, has appeared in court in Lincoln, UK, charged with the little boy's murder. Alex was rushed to hospital Tuesday, the day before Christmas Eve, and Steward Greene, 64, was arrested Wednesday, following an autopsy.

Police have not released details of how Alex died. It's thought he had been left in the care of his grandfather for a short period. Alex's mother, a nurse, is believed to be separated from Alex's father. Green is due in court again December 29. There's no bond.

'...Alex's dad John Robinson has described his son as "the brightest star".

Writing on Facebook underneath a picture he uploaded of Alex and a little girl shortly after his death, he wrote: "My little boy up in heaven the brightest star shining ever xxx".'

During a hearing at Lincoln Crown Court this morning (May 14) the date of Greene’s trial was fixed for November 17. It will be held at Lincoln Crown Court and is expected to last between three and four weeks...
