Or to the Cobweb again
Possibly, but there should have been CCTV footage of him there, had he gone inside.

I hope the police have got the correct date and time on the latest footage. I know that there was some confusion about this in their very first appeal - they originally posted that he was last seen at the local pub on [Saturday] 24th January at 14:20, but changed this later to say he was last seen on [Friday] 23rd Jan at the same time.

So from the photos, he was a patron at the pub, not working. I understand he is partner in a restaurant in Boscastle so I wasn’t sure if he had been working before he went missing.

it would be helpful to know how he got to the pub and how he typically travelled between home and places he went. I live about an hour away and we go to Bocastle semi-frequently. It’s not really somewhere easy to access without a car. There is a bus service that connects Bude and Wadebridge, but it’s only every 2-3 hours.

Would be have attempted to walk somewhere? The coast path there is quite steep and rugged. It gives me the heebie jeebies walking up and out of the harbour along the beach because I’m afraid of heights. The roads leading in/out are also narrow and steep in places, but I cannot imagine he could have been hit and not noticed. It’s not that isolated.

My concern is the cliffs really, risk of accident or self-harm, especially in Friday’s poor weather. It’s a rugged part of North Cornwall. MOO

But he could access it, if he wanted, I'm assuming.

Yes, I was responding to the question of whether he had been working prior to going missing.

... I can see at least 6 footpaths which leave the village - the ones immediately north and south of the harbour entrance may not be well covered by CCTV, unfortunately.
I guess I was wrong about that. There is a very well-placed webcam here, which would surely have captured Alex just a few steps past the phone box. Perhaps this is a live cam which does not record or store footage.

Wondering why he changed from the light coloured running shoes, to dark ones?
Were they wet, or did he plan to go someplace muddy, dirty, or even to better match the coat he added on top of the bright one? speculation.

''Previously it was believed that Alexander Key was last seen at 2.20pm on Friday 23 January in the local pub but the latest CCTV images show him at 3.25pm on Saturday 24 January, walking past the Wellington Pub, on Old Road, in the direction of Boscastle Harbour towards the River Valency.
The new image shows him still wearing a distinctive red shirt, but he is also wearing a blue anorak/waterproof and black trainers.
Alexander is described being 5ft 8in tall, of medium build with bright peroxide blonde hair and normally wearing bright coloured clothing.
If you have seen Alexander, or know of his whereabouts, please call police immediately on 999, quoting log number 847 of 24/1/26.''

''Follow a footpath through a dramatic flower-filled valley and woodland, over the River Valency and along high clifftops, starting and finishing at one of Cornwall’s prettiest fishing villages Boscastle.''

'This easy walk follows the Valency River through the beautiful valley that bore the brunt of the flooding. Along the way you’ll find a church and wander through the old part of Boscastle before heading back to the harbour via a stunning stretch of the South West Coast Path.'
