POLICE believe Citizen readers could help solve the murder of Wisbech teenager Alisa Dmitrijeva as they announced an important forensic breakthrough in the case.

Speaking to the Citizen on Thursday DCI Jes Fry, the man leading the murder hunt, said the paper’s readers could provide the vital information needed to capture the 17-year-old’s killer because it is the area’s local newspaper

" Officers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of Alisa Dmitrijeva, whose body was found in West Norfolk at the beginning of the year.

Detective Chief Inspector Jes Fry, who is leading the enquiry, said: “Work continues to take place studying soil and debris samples found in the car to identify the pollen and spores in them.

"These will then be compared with the results from the samples taken at Anmer. This process of analysis is a long and detailed one and if a link is identified, it could be a significant step forward in the enquiry.

"Other lines of enquiry continue to be progressed including the reviewing of CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses. I am particularly keen to speak with people who attended the party at Snettisham beach in the evening of 30 August into 31 and would ask that they contact the police directly.”

Romanian beggars 'flooding' London

Published on Monday 23 April 2012 15:55

"Eastern European migrants are arriving in London in "unprecedented" numbers, flooding the capital with beggars, pickpockets and prostitutes before the Olympics, officials have warned.

Organised crime gangs are believed to be transporting coach loads of Romanians into the country with instructions to work a pre-allocated "pitch". Some are understood to have come armed with Google Map print-outs of Marble Arch, which has drawn crowds of rough sleepers in recent weeks"

"Authorities believe around 50 women were shipped into the Sussex Gardens area last weekend and reports suggest high class prostitutes are working outside the Cumberland Hotel on Great Cumberland Street"

“I will go out to Latvia on August 31 to where Alisa grew up and go to the cemetery.

“I hope when I get back from Latvia, things will be much calmer and still but I don’t know how long we will feel this way [sic].

“I don’t know [her killers] but I just want to know why they did it.”

She added: “I am very happy with the police because the police are doing everything possible and have been keeping us informed every week.

“I would like to thank the police and also the British government for all they have done to help my family during this difficult time – in Latvia nothing would have been done.”

Two men arrested on suspicion of the murder of teenager Alisa Dmitrijeva have been re-bailed by police today.

The men, aged 28 and 31 and from the Wisbech area, were arrested in King’s Lynn on Tuesday, May 1.

Miss Dmitrijeva’s remains were found by a dog walker in a copse on arable land at Anmer, near Sandringham, on New Year’s Day.

A DNA profile and a palm print identified the remains as those of 17-year-old Alisa, who was reported missing from Wisbech on September 6 last year.

Both men have been re-bailed until August pending further enquiries

From September 2014:

http://www.lynnnews.co.uk/news/loca...s-tragic-and-troubling-says-coroner-1-6301180

Norfolk’s assistant coroner yesterday gave a narrative verdict in what he described as the “tragic, sad and troubling case” of 17-year-old Alisa Dmitrijeva’s death... Mr Osborne told the inquest that witnesses Robertas Lukosius, 34, and Lauras Boiko, 30, were not attending and that their current whereabouts is “unknown”...

In giving his narrative verdict Mr Osborne said: “It is likely her body had been where it was found for between one to four months. Unfortunately it has not been possible to determine a cause of death or whether Alisa died at the scene where she was found or else where. “The circumstances in which her body was found indicate third party involvement that is to say she was deliberately placed there.”

The inquest heard that Alisa was last seen alive in Friars Street, Lynn, on the night of August 30 and early hours of August 31 when the Lexus she was travelling in with Mr Lukosius and Mr Boiko was stopped by police.
