I think the flooding might be something to look more into. Maybe he wandered off and found himself in trouble that way, instead of the body of water that is the river.

Anthony Knott: Fiancee's tearful plea to missing firefighter

Emotional plea from his fiancee. I really don't see this man just walking out on his family or suicide.

I am agreeing with others on here that the water seems the most likely scenario.

At this time of year especially, my heart breaks for his family, I hope they get a resolution asap

@Wowno17 Yeah, he definitely doesn't seem like the person to walk out on them. I wonder how much of the river they've searched?

the river is quite a way from the pub though

his friends must be able to offer up a theory as plans, however loose, will have been made

I thought the same thing about the river being a bit of a distance away, and I wondered if they were headed to another pub in that direction?

But the river was what I looked for when I read about this man being missing on a pub night, and it's not so far away that it can be ruled out :(

theres a couple of car parks facing directly onto the river.....,one with a community fire station on it

possible they were meeting other firefighter friends from there?

That sounds like a possibility!! I just don't get the lack of information from the friends, that we know of anyway. By that I mean from the media - but it just seems odd. Like, when and how did the friends notice he was gone? Were they going to meet in another pub?

Keep thinking of Anthony and his loved ones today. What a horrible, horrible situation for them all.

I really can't stop thinking about how they must be feeling. I really hope they get their answers soon.

Worried sick I'd say. Puzzled, unable to focus on anything else but the question where is he. Thoughts running in circles. Not eating or sleeping much. If there are young children in the family they will go through the festive activities for their sake, otherwise probably not. It's a terrible and tense situation to be in. MOO. Hopefully he will be found soon to end this nightmare.

What a strange disappearance. Why, where and when did he get separated from the group? IMO I don't think we will hear a lot from his colleagues about what happened during that bar crawl. For one it's a very tight knit, family-like group and private things (flirting, cheating for instance -and I don't think he was doing that perse), will stay among them or will be shared on a "need to know" level. For not stirring up things at home and also to protect the reputation of the public service.
