Sad, if not unexpected, news.

So sad that he's been in the most obvious place all this time. When are we going to be able to search water more thoroughly? I know there are constrictions like murkiness, weather, and resources... one day I hope there will be a better and easier way.

RIP Antoine, I feel sad that you came to our country and loved it but never got to go home :(

The thing is though Cags even if they have unlimited resources to search for bodies the person is still going to be dead no matter how quickly they are found. Society really needs to question why so many young men end up in water after a night out. Not ending up dead in the first place is more important than a corpse turning up in a timely fashion.

Very true!! How DO so many youngsters fall into water? It's always the first thing I (and probably all of us) look for when we get a "last seen alone and drunk".

We can never know for sure as they can't tell us. I do think a small percentage are just a genuine drunken stumble into water and the rest are suicides. After a few drinks some people get maudlin and just go for it. The reason I conclude this is suicide is the biggest killer of men under 40. It's nearly always men who end up in water after a night out - I can only think of a few cases of women this has happened to but dozens of men.
