They are pursuing the investigation as if April was still alive. They were looking for this man from when April went missing last night - they knew he was in the area and has a similar vehicle and they have spent the day looking.

Asking people to continue check outhouses and buildings.

Arrested on foot, walking along the side of the road. They have just found his vehicle in the Machynlleth area

I read that it was 7pm that she went missing, but I also read that the godmother said 6.50pm stating that she got a call from aprils mum at this time.

Last night I heard 7.30pm for abduction, and mother only realised when she went to April's friends house at 8.00pm to see if she was there - only to be told by the friend that April had got into a van,which drove off.

I guess the timescales will have been pinned down a bit by now.

I'm still surprised that the playmate, who was 7, didn't try to stop April getting into the car, or report it straightaway. I would have thought that a child that age would have been more aware of stranger-danger - unless she wasn't close enough to realise that it wasn't someone April knew.

The man arrested has a vehicle similar to the one they have been looking for and know he was in the area at the time.

He was arrested on foot, and they have now found his vehicle.

Not sure what led to the arrest other than he was one of the lines of inquiry...

16.52 A 12-mile stretch of road has been closed in North Wales, and enquiries are being referred to Dyfed Powys police, prompting speculation that the closure is linked to the investigation.

16.48 A 46-year-old man has been arrested. Det Sup Reg Bevan said:

Within the last hour we have arrested a 46-year-old male from the Machynlleth area detained at Aberystwyth police station. We made the arrest just oustside Machynlleth and we hope he'll asist us in locating april who is still missing."

16.33 The family of April Jones are expected at the press conference very shortly. The police are also expected to provide an update on the search

Just heard on Sky News.
They knew he was in the area, and had a similar van.
He was on foot when they found him.
He's Local.
But no sign of April.
And they were looking for him since last night.
Sounds to me like he was on the sex offender registry already JMO.
