Yeah I agree sounds like they knew exactly who they were after

Which begs the question, why on earth was he in society free to roam around as he pleased? We seriously need to change our laws so that dangerous men and women who are known to be a risk to children are locked up BEFORE they do something like this, not after.

It makes me so angry that their human rights come above those of all the innocent children in this country.

The A487 was closed a while ago. That is the road in the photo above. They were speaking just now about Corris, which is further up the A487, toward Cross foxes, as shown on the map I posted just before the press conference.

A coastguard vehicle has just arrived :(

Here is the location where the White Van was found parked:

At point A, if i've done it correctly. The village is just south of there.

It turns my stomach to think of what might have happened to poor April. Ugh. Quick work by the police though.

I am very impressed. They are working under extreme pressure, especially with the cameras on them and being broadcast 24/7 and have treated this with the gravity and speed it deserves.

Looks like he parked close to that footbridge, and with the police checking river bank and looking down from the bridge lower down river and also some coastguard have arrived i heard on SKY it really doesnt look to good, obviously im praying for a positive outcome..

I wonder if hes panicked and dumped her alive either near or over the footbridge in the hopes she went in and thats why police are saying they think shes alive?.

At the risk of sounding pessimistic, I think that's what he will have told them. He may have said he left her there and she was fine, hence they tweeted they believed her to be alive. If they later find her downstream, he will swear she was fine when he left her, in an attempt to absolve himself of her murder.

B*stard.

UPDATE: A man arrested in connection with the abduction of April Jones was known to the five-year-old’s family, it emerged tonight.

Police are also looking at whether April’s abduction is linked to another attempted abduction in the Aberystwyth area around one week ago.

It comes as police confirmed that they were also looking closely at the movements of known registered sex offenders living in the area.

It is also understood that the man being questioned is known to April’s family but is not a relation.

That would explain why the five-year-old apparently got into a car with the person who abducted her of her own free will.

News back on - They have dozens of police dogs searching, plus mountain rescue and the fire brigade have been mobilised. They don't have civilian searchers, purely police. The reporter is surrounded by local people milling around, they all seem ready to go out and search again, dressed for the weather, some with back packs and walking staffs.

Nothing new

Thanks for all of the updates, everyone. It really helps those of us who aren't close or aren't able to watch/listen to reports. I'm stuck at work and really appreciate being able to check in here to get the latest.

Still hoping this beauty is found safe and unharmed.
