It's partly not making sense because the article you quote doesn't say his car is "back on his drive" at 9.20 - it says it was spotted "outside his remote cottage", and is simply the same report as the neighbour who said he saw the car leaving at 9.15. The 5-minute difference may be because the neighbour said at "about 9.15 or 9.20" or it may be sloppy reporting, or it may be the journalist slightgly changing details to disguise the fact that he's copied the account from another newspaper!

His driveway is a fair distance from the Difi bridge where he was seen with car troubles though.

Unless MB owned a light coloured vehicle (or had the use of one), this puts it in a little bit of a different light for me.

LE have stated that MB's dark blue landrover is the only vehicle involved in this case.

No, but I wonder why he did not apply for bail.

Maybe because he was concerned about community backlash ?

Or maybe because he's broke?

I am not familiar with UK Law.

Was MB entitled to apply for bail? Did he?

With a serious offence there is a 'presumption against' bail. So if his legal rep wanted to apply for bail on his behalf, the onus is on them to rebut the presumption - to show good reasons why it should not apply in this case.

Mr Justice Griffith-Williams said any decision about where any future trial would be held would be made after consultation with the victim's family.

The case was adjourned until 11 January while investigations continue, the court was told. Bridger was remanded into custody and no application for bail was made.

That is the bridge over the disused railway line which is crossed when leaving Ceinws. Not the bridge over the Dyfi.

Oh thanks, maybe bad reporting then. Am looking back through reports. Where did you get that from please?

See my post 209 above.

ETA I didn't "get it" from anywhere, I had looked at the area using maps and Streetview. As you leave the village of Ceinws you cross a bridge to reach the main road.

I don't think it's "bad reporting", they have quoted a witness and I don't see the Dyfi mentioned. I think you just assumed it was the Dyfi bridge.

I think we have to bear in mind when the child witness MH was first asked about April, the people asking were probably in a state of panic, word quickly got out to several on the estate, words were possibly put to the child to help her remember, it wasn't until the next day that the specialist Police interviewed the little girl and got the full description.

I can understand that totally. But its a big difference, especially to send out to the media. Its just doesnt sit right with me at all.

I am sure his lawyer will have advised him he's much safer in prison for now. And anyway, seeing as the whole world appears to have returned their verdict already, who would even put up the bail?

I must have missed that, when did they say that?

A pal has told police the Discovery was NOT parked on his driveway shortly before 8am Tuesday.

But by 9.20am the battered blue L-reg motor was spotted outside his remote cottage by another witness as cops desperately searched for April nearby.

But at 9:15 he was seen coming out of a junction, driving AWAY from Ceinws.

He wouldn't be granted bail on the charges against him. (and he would def be safer in prison right now anyway)

It's the one thing that's prickling me too. There seems to be so much hearsay and conflicting reporting that it all feels wrong. Despite their having forensic evidence. Trial can't come quickly enough really.

At a press confrence when the released the picture of MB and his landrover. It was asked by the media.

No, this seems to be two different versions of the same witness. Already been discussed a few posts back.

Did they actually say "there is no other vehicle involved in the case"?

Or did they say that they are not looking for any other vehicle?

Det Bevan said that no other vehicle was currently being sought not specifically that no other vehicle was involved in the case. It was in a press conference after the arrest and recovery of the Landrover.

In a press conference, Detective Superintendent Reg Bevan said ......
He confirmed that no other vehicle was currently being sought.

Didn't he supposedly turn up for work in the morning though?

I read this too - on the Tuesday morning - as normal. You are not going mad.
