I'm not sleuthing his family members. I've stated a fact that he is estranged from them. According to a neighbour MB left 20 yrs ago and hasn't been back.
Must have been 20'ish when he left.

I thought the police were watching the estuary? Isn't there a report of another death in that river taking 9 days for the body to wash out to the estuary? This is a close knit gossiping community. Bridger would know she would be reported missing immediately. How could he be certain of dumping a body in the river and getting away with it.
I'd like to know why, but I'm sure that will come out after the trial.Must have been 20'ish when he left.
Yes and yes, but it would only take a matter of a few hours for a child's body to get washed out to sea. Heck, I could walk from Mach to Ynyslas/Aberdovey in the space of an afternoon quite easily.
Ah thanks, ok think this is possibly different stories coming from different sources...it also states in several reports...left the Army which we've been told is untrue.:banghead:
Haven't put that on info list anyway, so won't be confused and prob isn't that relevant.
For those of us in here whose heads are still spinning from 'Dots' family tree and can't think straight - can you explain about the river/s - the river that passed by MB house at Ceinwy - is it the same or does it join the Dyfi?
Was only trying to help...Honest!!:what:
Our friend will explain better I'm sure but the Dulas is the river at the back of MB's house I think, not sure whether it joins the Dyfi but probable.
I cannot accentuate enough the size of the Dyfi estuary though, it is massive.
At it's end near Ynyslas is ALL beach...So big I was taken for some driving lessons on it! It really is a beautiful part of the country and well worth a visit!! :great:
I am thinking he was either so angry he didn't care who saw him or he wasn't thinking at all!!
I personally don't believe it was a sexual motive so was she taken for some kind of revenge, I feel he didn't intend to kill, but something went drastically wrong??
in my opinion it was against CJ/PJ somehow.....he took APRIL, no other child...it wasn't random....
Thoughts please??

Bridger, from Croydon in Surrey, moved to mid-Wales about 25 years ago. He met his first wife, Julie Williams, in 1989 at the Wynnstay Hotel in Machynlleth where he was working as a kitchen porter and she was a receptionist.
After a brief stay in Bristol, the couple moved back to Machynlleth where they married in 1990. They had two sons, Shaun and Scott, before they split in 1992.
Shortly after, Bridger moved in with another girlfriend, setting up home in her rented cottage in the centre of Machynlleth.
Bridger has known Aprils mother Coral for a number of years. He once lived a few doors down from her when he was living with another former girlfriend.

I think the river in Ceinws is the Dulas, which is a tributary of the Dyfi.
A friend of mine is utterly convinced that there was a Bridger Senior working on the railway in Mach when my friend was involved with things up there, in the late 80s/early 90s. Father of MB?
Thank you for both, I wouldn't have taken on the first task and I love genealogy!
Dots, you are a long way from the Dyfi now - although a beautiful part of the country
I do love Wales, especially that area, many happy memories. My Father was born in Wrexham, so I get the love from him. I live a mile from the sea in Cornwall now so I know I'm lucky for that.
Can't beat the Welsh people for their warm welcome and friendship....some say otherwise but everywhere I've been from Wrexham to Cardiff they are all lovely!:rocker:
Will stop being lazy and have a look at Google maps.
There are some photos of the police searching beach around the estuary - looks like low tide (scoop]
I misspelt 'Ceinws' - please excuse me - Welsh is new to me, closest rels are from the Gaeltacht in SW Eire, their first language is Irish Gaelic.![]()
I also think he wasn't thinking. He's a man of action anyway not a deep thinker and planner, is my opinion.
I also don't think he intended to kill her but acted out some anger he had - for whatever reason - and wanted to scare the parents, or people on the estate in general? It could have been random, maybe he knew that April would be the most willing to get into the car, maybe she had expressed enthusiasm about riding in it before. Maybe he just waved to the two girls and April was the only one to come over.
He could have had some "I'll show them" moment. "I take April and hide her and make them all scared and in the morning I bring her back. They won't/can't do anything, I'm family after all, I don't do anything wrong."
And then something went wrong and far beyond what he had thought he'd do.
I think he brought her to his home initally and it was there that something happened. Maybe April cried and he got inpatient with her, lost his temper ...
I think he went on foot with her body into the surrounding area and buried her somewhere. Or used his car and drove along some back roads, but not far.
I live in Wales, and I struggle with it *. But then I'm Dutch, so I hope I am excused too
.
* I meant struggle with Welsh, not living here! It's certainly a beautiful country!!!!
Will happily change whatever is needed later or someone else can have a go, have tried to keep it as factual as possible which isn't easy when there are dozens of different accounts!
