This is gold :-)

CONFLUENCE: River Dyfi and South Dulas, Machynlleth, Powys, Wales, UK
in River Origins, Destinations and Confluences
52° 35.465 W 003° 49.898
30U E 443663 N 5827109

Long Description:
A Conflunce of the river dyfi and the river South Dulas near a parking area to the east of Machynlleth. It is shallow and wading could be done for the more adventurous.
It rises in the small lake Creiglyn Dyfi at about 1,900 feet (580 m) above sea level, below Aran Fawddwy, flowing south to Dinas Mawddwy and Cemmaes Road, then south west past Machynlleth to Cardigan Bay at Aberdyfi. It shares its watershed with the River Severn and the River Dee before flowing generally south-westwards down to a wide estuary. The only large town on its route is Machynlleth.
Because of its origins high in the Cambrian Mountains and its relatively short length, it is prone to flooding and some roads in the lower catchment can become impassable during very wet weather. It is a relatively pristine river with few polluting inputs and is notable for its Salmon and Brown Trout.
The catchment area was notable for its now defunct lead mines and slate quarries, especially around Corris and Dinas Mawddwy.

And as a random claim to fame; The Dyfi's estuary was used as a location shot in Led Zeppelin's 1976 film The Song Remains the Same. This is an area about 4 miles West of this waymark. The segment of the film is where Robert Plant comes ashore on a boat, after which he rides a horse, making his way to Raglan Castle. Plant was obviously behind the choice of the location, being familiar with the area. Bron-Yr-Aur cottage is located on the edge of Machynlleth, where he and the band wrote many songs while on holiday, inc 'Bron-yr-Aur Stomp'.

Well done, It is indeed Gold!!!:great:
That does actually sum it up perfectly!
If you want to look further I'm pretty sure there are some video's of the flooding on You Tube.
Easy to see why the Police and Rescue teams have such a mammoth task, the chances really are similar to finding a 'needle in a Haystack'!!

A friend of mine is utterly convinced that there was a Bridger Senior working on the railway in Mach when my friend was involved with things up there, in the late 80s/early 90s. Father of MB?

I think he was firmly ensconsed with his work in Protecting the Queen Mum at that point but you never know!

Mark Bridger's dad was royal cop

Guarded ... Queen Mother
THE April Jones murder suspect is the son of a former royal protection officer who guarded the Queen Mother.

Mark Bridger’s father Graham, 71, spent nearly 30 years in the Met Police.

Maurice Hartigan — the boyfriend of Bridger’s sister Karen, 48 — said: “His old man was a serving copper.

“He used to escort the Queen Mum around.”

Mr Hartigan, 70, claimed Bridger was a fantasist.

He said: “Mark told me he was in Special Forces and was in Iraq and Afghanistan but he’s never been in the Army.”

Bridger, 46, grew up in Croydon, South London.

But Graham and mum Pamela, 69, later moved to East Sussex.

After Bridger went to Wales, they rarely saw him.

I have been thinking a bit more about the map I made and I still believe I see a pattern. I am hesitant to state what that pattern seems to be, because I would expect that pattern would be recognized by more than person if it had any merit.

If anyone is curious at taking a look at the map again, here is the google map link. I can't seem to directly embed the map on this page.
The map is interactive and has the details related to the numbered incidents on the left hand side of the page in the side bar. Alternately, these informational boxes will appear when you click on the icons themselves.

https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=205327856569494080612.0004cc025a35a815c6851&msa=0

I also have a spreadsheet, work in progress, of these incidents. It is nice to have something to easily compare the various abduction attempts. That page is simply a google doc, and here is the link for that document.

I can't see a pattern, sorry, but that doesn't mean there is none. Maybe if you include "Suspicious incidents" as well such as this one?

Quite literally gold - Bron-yr-aur translates as "Near the gold". There's gold in them hills, you see. It's more concentrated around Dolgellau.

I also think he wasn't thinking. He's a man of action anyway not a deep thinker and planner, is my opinion.

I also don't think he intended to kill her but acted out some anger he had - for whatever reason - and wanted to scare the parents, or people on the estate in general? It could have been random, maybe he knew that April would be the most willing to get into the car, maybe she had expressed enthusiasm about riding in it before. Maybe he just waved to the two girls and April was the only one to come over.

He could have had some "I'll show them" moment. "I take April and hide her and make them all scared and in the morning I bring her back. They won't/can't do anything, I'm family after all, I don't do anything wrong."

And then something went wrong and far beyond what he had thought he'd do.

I think he brought her to his home initally and it was there that something happened. Maybe April cried and he got inpatient with her, lost his temper ... :(

I think he went on foot with her body into the surrounding area and buried her somewhere. Or used his car and drove along some back roads, but not far.
April could also have gotten into the vehicle and got out an hour later. 600ft from her own front door in the dark.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/search-for-april-jones-latest-specialist-1384882

Specialist helicopters were yesterday drafted into the hunt for five-year-old April Jones to look for evidence of a shallow grave.

The move came as police vowed there was “no end date” to the search.

Up to 200 rescuers remain involved in the hunt for the youngster, abducted nearly three weeks ago and presumed murdered.

The helicopters and other aircraft will scour land for disturbed earth around accused Mark Bridger’s last known address in a village near April’s Welsh home.

Ah I'm glad to hear that! That's what I thought they should do.

Funny you say that as I was taken 'Panning for Gold' nearr Dolgellau as a kid!!!
Never found any though:furious: But it was a great way to shut me and my dear brothers up for an hour or two I think!!!

May I ask whereabouts you are from/live? Only out of interest...Not stalking!!

Yesterday 150 officers from UK forces outside Wales left the operation.

I hope they can repeat the helicopter operation in all other areas as well within a 2 miles radius or so of machynlleth

Are you sure that's correct? she may well have 3 children, but I'm not sure MB is the father of all three.

From what I remember, and it is of course subject to MSM getting it right ! JW does have 3 children, but only 2 with MB - she has a 16 year old son as well, but obviously not with MB as they split by 1992

If the exes and the offspring all got together they could nearly fill the town hall.

somewhere, on one of the many earlier threads, this is more or less what I also posted .......
I think AJ is very close to his house and will possibly never be found

Yes, I think very similar and wrote very similar a few posts back. Although, I wonder if I'm (as I usually do) trying to see the best in someone....NOT defending his actions (if proven) in anyway, but from all that we have heard about him he doesn't appear murderous or a Paedophile. Just a run of the mill man who may has possibly acted without much thought and very quick regret!

The bit that doesn't make sense is if that is true....why hasn't he confessed or told them where April is??
And the perverting charge....doesn't sound like he's been co-operative???

the charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice relates to concealing a body

he either didnt do it or if he did isnt telling if he thinks they have no evidence or his lawyer has told him to say nothing either way

Call me naive, but I'd like to think that if Bridger is guilty he would have the decency to tell where April is. He has several children of his own and visited them regularly, was good enough for many women to sleep with and have long relationships with. He couldn't have been all that bad, or the other women would have warned each other.
