Mach is still "holding onto hope for April". The town clock is now bathed in pink light:

I loved the shot of Blackpool tower in pink the other day :-)

My Dad has a friend at his aged care home, a lovely 95 year old English lady from Blackpool, met her hubby about 1942, was navigator in RAAF and serving with RAF Liberator squadron, she came to Sydney as a war bride in 1945 with their little daughter.

Way too much information from quoted poster :blushing:
Sorry if that makes you blush, but I also wonder how MB was able to make maintenance payments to all of his children.

  • #863
There are photos of her in a summer uniform as well, remembering that in the UK your summer holiday is Sept/Oct and school starts after that, I think she was at school more than a few weeks. My dau-in-law taught Reception for 4 years in London, I'll ask her on the weekend about reports, but agree, you can't get a glowing report after a few weeks.

Just looked it up on council page and the school year started on the 3rd September. I hadn't thought of the pictures of her in summer uniform. Does this not suggest she was starting in year one not reception?

My point being if she was starting year one, it would be unlikely that there would have been a 'parent chat' straight after school but a parents evening as with the other classes.

It's such a bad world out there, we should all be more aware. Thank you for this.

I think they are butterfly nets, maybe put there by his children or VF's two. And all butterfly lovers should reclaim the symbol, not let it be associated with something so despicable, stuff that!:furious:

Should all choose a pretty butterfly for an avatar.

Finding his vehicle at the repair shop, dogs alerting to body fluids/cadaverine perhaps?

jmo.

DS Bevan I think said they had 'extensive forensic evidence'.

Some children wear uniform at nursery school.

It looks like the same school as she had the winter uniform.

Not wanting to be a snob, but isn't it usually more upmarket kindies that have a little uniform?
(there are none that I know of in Sydney, btw, only uniforms are prep school and that is proper school, not pre school or kindergarten.)

  • #867
Yes I understand all that you've said and you're entitled to your opinion. I am just not of the opinion (so far) from the evidence and info we have that there was any sexual motive in this case!
Each to their own as they say and I'm happy to be proved wrong.

I will be very surprised (and sad) if there is.

Maybe he didn't. Maybe the government paid.

  • #869
Perhaps I should have said that our government is not particularly discerning when it comes to allowing criminals and gangsters to arrive from Europe.

A cousin is DON at hospital in Co Kerry, she tells me that Tralee is now chocker with all sorts due to the EU thing.

Who was the girlfriend before VF? We're talking about a very promiscuous man here who is incapable of holding a relationship together.

Might give Mick Jagger a run for his money:twocents:

I fear that your memory has let you down. School summer holidays in England and Wales are in July and August. AJ's school reopened at the start of September, some four weeks before the parents' evening in question.

Another different situation. Jagger is also more than capable of the financial upkeep of his children.

MB, doesn't strike me as the sort of man adored by women for his wealth and fame with trails of temptation put in his path. He strikes me more as someone who preyed on women with low self esteem and very little hope.

If he's guilty it won't surprise me at all. I've already gone past the stage of there being another persons involvement, but I bet his ex's are sitting there and thinking with hindsight.

Why? Because if MB is guilty, he wouldn't take April just to kill her.

Maybe, maybe not, but we don't know if this was pre-meditated or 'heat of the moment'.....or even 'under the influence'. But we also have no real reason to believe it could be sexual?? IMOO

I hope you're right about ED's age, because if she was 11, or 12, someone somewhere has a lot to answer for.

Unfortunately we have very few definites, we can only try and go on the very little we do have, several sources have several dates so it is hard to be precise.

I think with hindsight if they were together at 11/12 we would definately heard about it by now!!!

It makes sense ED was a long-term partner as they remained friends for the sake of there kids and he saw those 2 children regularly and was trusted by all.

As for Child Maintenance payments, who knows what he paid or didn't or what his earnings were, he seemed a bit of a 'jack of all trades'...which would lead me to think he probably did a fair amount of odd job, or possibly cash in hand jobs.

Again though, none of these things make him a murderer. If parenting several children and walking away from relationships, unemployment or were the criteria for a murderer then half then Men and Women in Britain would be guilty!!:floorlaugh:

Not sure ED or VF would see themselves as having low self esteem?? Apart from one reported 'bitter' split he had no problem with women being 'wary' of him.

The fact that ED is happily married and MB visits his children regularly at their house when most of the time her husband and are family members are about I would have thought shows confidence not low esteem??
Who knows....I wish I did!!!:what:

Very true, but the other people you speak of haven't been charged with murder. MB has.

I don't know if anyone has put this up.

I think you've missed the point I was trying to make....the traits you name aren't necessarily conducive with a murderer so I don't see why you keep mentioning them to be honest. No offense meant, I just don't get it.

Also not sure what this report has to do with April, the police said they are not looking for any other vehicle in this case.

Unless you are now trying to say that they have the wrong man locked up??

Since we now know that the article in the BBC gave the correct age (thank you Cherwell) and the Sun article gave the wrong age, my guess is that the Sun also grabbed the 10 year's relationship out of thin air. They were together (I assume) when the children were born which was approx 2000-2002. Maybe also before that and maybe also after that. We just don't know.

There was another relationship straight after JW from what I remember. We don't know who that was.

I really don't see promiscuous here though.

I could write an essay on Child Maintenance and the CSA :banghead:, but I shall refrain, since we just don't know the situation here.

I might be able to help regarding the school type questions.

In the UK a child must start full time education the term after their 5th birthday, at the latest. Most schools start children off in reception class in the September after their 4th birthday, although some will have a couple of intakes for that school year and might start the younger children (ie 4th birthday after May) in the January or even Easter, but that practice is less common now. It's not unusual for a child who just turned 4 the day before they start school to be starting in the same class as a child who turns five the day after they start school.

Therefore, April will have been attending school for a year already and been back for 4 weeks of the autumn term when she disappeared.

LegallyBrunette, the majority of schools in the UK have a uniform - it no longer has exclusive connotations, although those school who wish themselves to still appear exclusive tend to adopt the slightly more eccentric accessories, such as straw boaters for the summer months, etc and the primary aged children will have to wear blazers and ties, rather than the less exclusive primary children for whom a polo shirt and sweatshirt with the school logo is usually sufficient.

I've felt saying she was playing out late due to a glowing report was very iffy from the moment it was said, which incidentally, was after her parents came into some criticism for the time of day she was playing out. They would have been invited to more of a 'meet the new teacher' session, rather than a progress report and may have been told she was settling in well and a good student.

They would have had a written progress report at the end of the summer term (late July) and probably a meeting with the form teacher then as well.

I hope that helps a bit?
