As far as we have been told, the child witness has not been asked to actually identify MB's Land Rover as the car involved nor has she been asked to identify MB himself. Please correct me if mistaken in this.

If she had been run over and injured though, you would have expected even greater panic over her disappearance as they would know she could be dying. Why would people who loved her want to create a different impression and keep that from the police.

Perhaps the child saw nothing, she didnt go straight away to anyone did she???

Me too. I wouldn't like to be on the jury anyway because of the nature of the case and with the judge instructing them that if they decide AJ got into the van of her own volition then they must find him guilty.

We'll find out soon enough.

If I was the defendant I would be er concerned.

No, but I agree with Clutchbag that if there was any evidence there, it would more than likely been washed off while driving around in the rain and mud.

And of course the police have not helped in admitting that, due to "confusion" they had not examined the road where MB claimed he had parked.

If the jury is hung what will happen next?

The judge will tell them that he will accept a majority verdict (which must have at least 10 of the 12 jurors in agreement), although they should continue to try to reach a unanimous verdict if possible.

If, after further discussion, they cannot achieve even a majority verdict, the Crown Prosecution Service is likely to seek a re-trial in front of a different jury.

its 50 50 in my mind probably guilty but maybe hung IMO

The prosecution failed IMO to prove beyond shadow of a doubt that he abducted and murdered her

The prosecution also relied heavily on the bone fragments found, the defence forensic witnesses put a doubt to that too

This is one of the only trials I have followed where I am really not sure.

Clearly AJ got into MBs car, either he put her there as per his version of events, or she got inside willingly, as per her friend's version.
So it may not have been abduction at the time AJ got into the car, but surely it was when MB failed to return her back to her home and parents ?

Similarly, on 3rd count, perverting the course of justice. He acknowledges that he was probably responsible for her death, the implication is that he must have been the last person to see her alive, so, so is that considered to be PCofJ ?

On count 2, I am really not sure based on the evidence they have produced

Thats a point but a liar for personal reasons over the years is not proof that he lied here


the other argument by the prosecution was that he was interested in real life crimes, as per their pathetic question to him as why did he have wipes in his car, hello??? I have interest in real life crime, as does everyne here, and i have wet wipes in my car

Totally agree........ at one time I had not only wet wipes but garden twine and black rubbish sacks in my car boot, as it was handy when tidying up my front garden ( saved walking to shed at back of house ).

That was an extremely short trial compared to the Arias trial. I suppose anything would be shorter than that though.

What is everyone's feelings on the coming verdict?

My gut has always said he done it, his explanation of what happened has never rung true to me or sounds logically acceptable in my mind either.

Really hope mum and dad get the outcome they are hoping for. My sons just turning five so its inconceivable to me, to even dare to imagine what they feel

My own view (and I dare say that of quite a few others who have followed the trial) is a feeling that he is guilty, but a fear that there may not be enough evidence to convince a jury to convict.
