Someone may have picked up on something that I had skimmed past, I might remember something that someone else might have missed. Depends how the jury take the evidence presented. Do they believe a good parent would lie about the existence of two elder children? Do they believe a good parent would have prior involvement with SS? Do they believe a good parent would call their ex up to inflict violence on their current partner? It’s all about how the jury interprets what has been given to them.

Or do they believe a good parent can break the kid's bond with loving grandparents?
Can a good parent refuse to give a child a glass of water?
Or doesnt wash him, clean his teeth and make him wear clean clothes?

I have to say this is a really unusual forum. Informing, educating, encouraging, querying, no cancelling people, all on the most challenging and emotive topics. Thank you for all the posts, I’m very glad I found this.

I agree with you, I’m so glad I found this site. I live locally, I don’t know anyone involved in the trial but it has really broken my heart, I just can’t comprehend the cruelty and how it went unnoticed and was case closed by the SS and police. My husband won’t discuss it and I can tell he gets annoyed if I bring it up and I did talk about it with my mom, but since the audio and cctv release it really upsets her to think of Arthur, so I don’t talk about it with her now, so I really am thankful for all the members on this page. Everyone is in persuit for justice for Arthur xxxx

It's not unusual for one child to be a scapegoat, and to suffer all the abuse. While the other children are treated well. Daniel Pelka's sister is a good example, she had a bedroom. Wasn't punished for helping Daniel, and was well fed. Isaiah Torres is another one, his 2 sisters were loved, although the parents encouraged them to join in the abuse.

Or do they believe like I do that he did this with ET’s influence and didn’t know everything that was going on. I really feel sorry for the jury, this is an absolutely depraved and monstrous trial for them to be sitting on…it must be breaking their hearts and they have the burden of giving their verdicts, they are just lay-people like us. So very sad and difficult.

It's full of little babies and young children who've been murdered by their parents. It has sections from all over the world. The lady who ran it had to stop due to ill health, but its interesting to see how and why one child becomes the victim, while the others live fairly normal and happy lives.

But that’s where the difficulty lies for the jury. I think they are both guilty for the cruelty counts but I think ET is the only one guilty of murder. It’s going to be so hard for them in the jurors room to unanimously decide on their verdict because we all don’t unanimously agree. I really feel for them, it’s such a huge responsibility

And I think it is definitely murder, not manslaughter at all, so I hope it doesn’t get dropped to it. The salt poisoning along with shaking him and hitting his head on the floor, not calling the ambulance.. ..all these are actions with the intent of Arthur dying. I hope the jury think the same

Well, that's fair enough.
I've followed cases like this since my daughter was 13 months old. She refused to go to sleep (it was 11pm), I was convinced I was abusing her because I kept putting her back to bed and she kept crying. And whilst checking online if I was abusing her (by not allowing her to stay up past her bedtime) I found that site.

Manslaughter is not a charge at present, it’s guilty of murder or nothing. Unless a jury remains stuck and then a judge could add an alternative charge of manslaughter.
I am 100% certain, from my point of view anyway, that there will be no hesitation of a murder conviction for ET. I have not a single doubt that she will be convicted on all charges

Yes you are right. I am someone that has bought it that he didn’t mean it literally, I think he’s uneducated and can’t articulate so results to big threats. I have known someone who is like a teddy bear but says that will do this/that and the other to sound ‘hard’ and actually doesn’t mean them or would do any of things they say, however, TH did inflict very cruel and violent behaviour, so it’s possible he did mean it literally. I just really don’t know, this case is very heavy and there is so much to it. We can’t see their demeanours in court, so it is hard to truly know. I can’t wait until Wednesday when the verdict is due to be in, I feel confident that it will bring justice.

Just to jump off this, one of the brothers mentioned that TH messaging type was chaotic and full of spelling mistakes, which was how he realised it was ET who sent the harassment message. Whether that plays into being a defence for the stuff he typed about Arthur though, I am unsure. I’d like to know what he meant by “chaotic”, I think that would help me. Does he mean random messages with no context? Does he mean abrupt and over the top messages?

Good point. I would take chaotic to mean abrupt, thoughtless, difficult to read as no punctuation, but that is only my own take on that choice of word. And you are so right, the sheer volume of his texts is astounding, it isn’t like it’s just an odd few to placate ET.
