Police are appealing for the public's help to help trace a man last seen on Friday (January 7) night.

Ashley Walsh, from Oldham, was last seen on Kintore Walk, Blackley, according to Greater Manchester Police (GMP).

The 34-year-old is described as a white male, 6 feet 1 inches tall, of a slim build with a tattoo on his arm that reads 'in it to win it'.

He also has a tattoo with the name 'Harrison' and a date of birth on the back of his neck with a small scar on his cheek, police said.

Ashley is said to have last been seen wearing a coat with camouflaged sleeves, as well as blue tracksuit bottoms with a 'North Face' logo on the back of the leg, and grey 'Caterpillar' boots.

#UPDATE | Police launch murder investigation following the disappearance of a man from #Failsworth.

Police investigating the disappearance of 34-year-old Ashley Walsh from Failsworth, have arrested two men - aged 33 and 45 - on suspicion of murder.

A scene is currently in place at Sandhills Park, Collyhurst, in relation to the investigation and officers will remain at the scene for the day.

A 30-year-old woman has also been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. All remain in custody for questioning.

A MURDER investigation has launched after the disappearance of a 34-year-old man from Failsworth.

Police investigating the disappearance of Ashley Walsh have arrested two men - aged 33 and 45 - on suspicion of murder.

A scene is currently in place at Sandhills Park, Collyhurst, in relation to the investigation and officers will remain at the scene for the day.

A 30-year-old woman has also been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. All remain in custody for questioning.

Detective inspector Mark Davis, of GMPs Major Investigation Team, said: "Following a number of enquiries, we now believe that Ashley may have come to serious harm. However, enquiries are still very much on-going and we are not in a position to confirm any further details at this stage.

"We will be out posting leaflets through doors in the local area today, to see if we can get any further information which may help our investigation."

"Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 0161 856 6377 quoting log number 1819 of the January 12, 2022."

#CHARGED | Two men have been charged with the murder of a missing man from Oldham.

Aaron Evitt (05/06/1988), of Brentnor Road, Manchester, and Gerrard McGlacken (06/12/1976), of Kintore Walk, Manchester, have been charged with the murder of 34-year-old Ashley Walsh from Failsworth.

They have been remanded in custody to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court this morning (18 January 2022).

Two men have appeared in court accused of murder and preventing the burial of a dad who was found dead in woodland.

Aaron Evitt, 33, and Gerrard McGlacken, 45, both appeared in the dock this morning after police charged them with both offences.


His body was bound in a wooded area of Sandhills Park in Collyhurst.

Mr Evitt, of Brentnor Road, Moston, and Mr McGlacken, of Kintore Walk, Collyhurst, have both been charged with murdering Mr Walsh, 34, between January 7 & Jan 8.
They are also jointly charged with preventing the lawful burial of a dead body.
Both men appeared at Manchester Magistrates Court in separate hearings earlier today.

They were told the case was 'too serious' to be dealt with there, and it was adjourned for a further hearing at Manchester Crown Court on Thursday.

No pleas were entered, and District Judge Bernard Begley remanded both men in custody.

A woman has appeared in court accused of cleaning up a property after the alleged murder of a 'loving dad' in Manchester.

Stephanie Lester has been charged with assisting an offender in connection with the death of Ashley Walsh in north Manchester in January, this year.

Mr Walsh had gone missing from his home in Failsworth, Oldham, on January 7 and was last seen alive on Kintore Walk, Collyhurst, at around 11pm.

The 34-year-old's body was later found a short distance away in woodland at Sandhills Park on January 17.

Two people - Aaron Evitt, 33, of Brentnor Road, Moston, and Gerrard McGlacken, 45, of Kintore Walk, Collyhurst - have since been charged with his murder.

Ms Lester is accused of cleaning up a property 'with intent to impede the apprehension or prosecution of a person who had committed the offence of murder', between January 7 and January 14.

The 31-year-old spoke only to confirm her name during a brief hearing at Manchester Magistrates' Court yesterday afternoon, April 13, MEN reports.

The case was adjourned until May 18 at Manchester Crown Court, and Ms Lester, of Lancashire Hill in Heaton Norris, Stockport, was granted unconditional bail.

A trial has been provisionally set for Monday, July 4.
