The trial of former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu continued on Monday at the Old Bailey court in Central England, the United Kingdom.

"Speaking through an interpreter, the victim said he arrived in the UK on February 20, 2022, to provide his kidney to Sonia Ekweremadu."

This makes it sound pretty clear that he did know he was there to "donate" his kidney. I'm sure that a lot can be lost in translation and even more when single bites are snipped out for articles but my guess continues to be that the senator and his wife worked out a deal to pay the "donor", part of which involved smuggling him into the UK because that's where the daughter is and where the good surgeons are. Then once he was there he backed out of the deal and it took on a really really bad spin.

I do kind of wonder if there was any sort of compatibility screening done ahead of time. Did they truck a whole bunch of blood samples from Nigeria to the UK for testing?

OH, yeah this story covers much more of the victims testimony. If true, I wonder why the senator ever thought the plan would work. Maybe he was given false assurances by this Dr Owata character.

Any idea why the female only recieved less than half the sentence that the male recieved?

Seems to be a consistent running theme in UK, so would like to know if there were circumstances pointing toward her having played a lesser part, prior to jumping to conclusions.
