THE mum of a missing Scots man has launched a desperate plea after cops mistakenly claimed he was found.
Officers previously appealed for help to trace 21-year-old Ben Cameron, who vanished from the Scottish Borders on Thursday, August 18.

They later said the Clydebank man had been found "safe and well" on August 22 in a statement on social media.
But a source told the Clydebank Post that the 21-year-old is still reported missing and a renewed appeal has been launched.
A family member has also commented on the police's post that he was found, saying: "Ben has not been found as not one of his family know where he is. He is still missing and needs to be found as he is not in a good place.
"Please everyone, still share the post of a missing person as we need Ben home so we can help him."
[...]
Inspector David Rourke, from Police Scotland, told the Post: “Ben was staying in Nenthorn whilst working in the area, however, it appears that he left the address in the early hours on Friday (August 19).
“He didn’t let anyone know where he was going but, the fact that he left and hasn’t been at work since or in contact with family and friends is concerning for us all.
“We’d also ask Ben himself to get in touch with family, friends, or the police just to let us know he is ok.”
Anyone who may have seen him, or have any knowledge as to his whereabouts to get in touch with police on 101 quoting reference number 0471 of August 19.
