CANADA Canada - Audrey Gleave, 73, Ancaster ON, 30 Dec 2010 #10

Can you link the post/thread? Thanks :)

I will be adding to Audrey’s media thread beginning tomorrow. I am using newspapers.com as a resource. Many of the links in the media thread are currently broken, so an update seems necessary. A link to the media thread can be found on page one of this thread or right here:

Canada - Audrey Gleave, Ancaster, Dec. 2010 *** MEDIA/TIMELINES *** NO DISCUSSION ***

When Audrey was not feeling well, why was LV allowed to bring over soup but PK was told to wait a few days? Audrey could have accepted the cake but, feeling unwell, she might have put it aside for a couple of days.
I don't remember, if it was said by PK and when and where, but it may be, that his wife should have baked the cake (not him), and AK hadn't had time to bake it earlier.
I remember, that I wondered about, why she would bake it and not him, and I wondered, if she was pleased to do it for AG or rather not. After all, AK was employed and had much less free time than PK. Afaik, he was able to bake also and not only his pastry chef wife.

Just noting..

'He is described as a white male of around 30 years in age. He stands between five-foot-nine and five-foot-10 and has a thick build. He was wearing a black hooded sweater with a reflective X on the chest and back.'

Wow, thanks for this @dotr. He would have been young (and close) in Audrey's time.
Another young one.. really hoping that there is DNA in Audrey's case, it would be particularly meaningful if science plays a role in solving her murder, imo.

'DNA results have led to the arrest of a Hamilton man accused of a violent sexual assault of a woman nearly a decade ago.'

'The assault happened on Aug. 14, 2015, when a female was walking alone near Quigley Road and Veevers Drive in Hamilton.'

''The identity of the accused has not been as he was a youth at the time of the incident and is protected by the Youth Criminal Justice Act.''

Interesting article regarding DNA.
''Last year, Huys resent exhibits from the unsolved Audrey Gleave homicide scene back to CFS to take advantage of the new mixed DNA testing.

Audrey, a retired high school teacher, lived alone in her Lynden home for 37 years before being killed in her garage in December 2010.

Anyone entering the DNA Unit at the CFS — even the maintenance guy who changes a light bulb — must first give a DNA sample.

This is a safeguard against contamination''

So they do have DNA from Audrey’s garage/home. Wonderful.

This was stated by LE early in the investigation: "There is every reason to believe that this murder was carried out by someone who knew Gleave and her routines" -- Audrey Gleave
Lee Mellor suggested that Sonia Varaschin's murder and the attack on Shelley Loder were perpetrated by someone surveilling the women.....
I still wonder if these cases are linked.

Even if ONE of them had been solved or had a person of interest they were watching, I'd think differently. We know they questioned PK in Audrey's case but with the others we don't even know if there's a person of interest. And LE are far too quiet about all three cases. JMO

I rather think, they are not related. IMO

"Look young and look close"

There was mention of a nearby neighbour who had a younger male relative (nephew? stepson?) visiting them around the time of the murder... I'll have to go back and refresh my memory on the specifics. That always stood out to me though and I wish we heard more about him.

I've forgotten, who that could have been. Though I remember the nephew of AG's friend LV, who later on got arrested for a planned meeting with an underaged boy .... His initials are JV.

Google, article not available to me:

Are you thinking of the young son who lived across the street from Audrey? If memory serves, the last name is F.
