So they had 30 minutes from the Apple Garage to Glinton, a distance of 13.5 miles, but after 13 of those minutes SaW got out of the car a took 33 steps in 5 minutes, which leaves 12 minutes to get to Glinton from wherever they stopped. So that location is at most 13 minutes from Apple Garage and 12 minutes from Glinton, somewhere on/off the A15.

That could fit with the area around Deeping St Nicholas where we know ScW used to live. I always thought that he would choose a site he knew well enough to navigate in the darkness. Of course, it might be that they just stopped for a rolled cigarette and a pee.

The Glinton speed camera might explain why LE had searched at Etton which is close by.

I really don’t understand their thinking sending those messages! Starts off making out Bernadette ran away, then saying they don’t know I’ve got my phone sounds like kidnap but then leaving my options open isn’t something a kidnapped person would say

There appears to be some gravel pits/ quarry areas around Maxey- does anyone know if these were ever looked at during the investigation. Looks like you can drive straight into the sites there on google earth.

I wonder if there's a lay by with a bin where he stopped and did 33 steps? I was wondering how far 33 steps was, in my house that is from my sofa to my kitchen bin, walking in a u shape. Not far at all.

@Tortoise - I love a good timeline, and this is brilliant!

Thank you!

11:16am – 11:23am – ScW’s phone travelled through Werrington, and into Gunthorpe and Dogsthorpe areas. In Gunthorpe area he got out of the car and walked 410 steps (recorded on his phone). (source trial)

Guys, have we established whereabouts in Gunthorpe this took place? I know this question was asked yesterday but I don't recall anyone answering. Weird how they're not able to be more specific.

As for Ulldale Way, could Scott have parked up at the Harrier pub? Is that the same carpark?
I know people who lived near the Harrier were asked if they had CCTV for potential sitings of BW.

There are quite a few watery pits in the Etton/Maxey area, all of which could be within range of the 13 minutes from the Apple Garage travelling at 60 mph.

Bernadette Walker trial: Mother told police teenage daughter had ‘run off before’ - PeterboroughMatters.co.uk

Scott Walker downloaded an advice form from Childline at 10.20am on July 20, and at 1.31am on July 21 Sarah Walker contacted police via an online web chat function, the prosecution counsel said.

Sarah Walker wrote on the web chat: “Hi, I just wanted some advice because our 17-year-old daughter ran off after a row.”

After a short exchange, the officer on the chat suggested she called 101, which she did at 3.10am, in a 50-minute call played to jurors.

“I’m just ringing to report my 17-year-old daughter missing,” Sarah Walker said, with a call handler asking how long for.

“Well, she ran away on Saturday lunchtime but I knew where she was until she stopped messaging at 1am yesterday morning.

“I gave her the day to sort of sort it out a bit because it’s not the first time she’s done it.”

Sarah Walker said Bernadette “has run off before”.

She said Bernadette had previously messaged to say she was at an ex-boyfriend’s house.

Asked if she went to the boy’s house to see if Bernadette was there, or if she made contact with the boy or his parents, she said: “I didn’t, no, because his parents are Polish and I, she doesn’t speak a word of English.”

She said that another person asked the boy if Bernadette was there and he replied that she was not.

Just in from Peterborough Matters

SaW had clearly not bothered to find out herself from friends or the Polish ex-boyfriend (if he existed) where BW was. She already knew that was pointless. She didn't contact the boy's Mum because 'she doesn't speak English' has to be off the top of her head.

More lies! Jeeesh

I wonder what she was saying to the other kids? The same story?

Had BW run off before, any proof of that?

"I’m just ringing to report my 17-year-old daughter missing"

That sounds really worried. Not.

Does this ex bf exist at all?

While there are exceptions, most people from Eastern Europe speak very good English but 99.9% at least has a level to understand ' is Bea here'... especially if they have been living here longer, she claims it was an EX so not current..

So here's the root of that Polish kidnap nonsense, I was wondering about it.

  • #197
Also, we know Bea didn't text her about staying with ex bf as SaW had her phone..

  • #198
Sometimes, it's the smaller details that are so upsetting. SaW shoehorning 'Your mum loves you so much, and she really, really misses you' and 'I swear you tell anyone else I lied...' into the made-up messages. Aside from the sheer wickedness with which these two have treated BW, it's so incredibly callous to then attempt to paint her as a thoughtless liar, and SaW as a caring, loving mom.

At no point do the actions of this pair resemble those of the parents of a genuinely missing child.

I cannot get this case out of my head. Poor, poor BW.

Some new info here: Peterborough Telegraph just now

BW's phone text to a friend "Sorry, got to go, they don’t know I actually have my phone.” This is on the Apple Garage road trip in the Cowbit area and before her phone disconnected for the last time at 1.29am.

ScW's car was recorded on the A15 at Glinton at 1.49am which is new to the timeline. 13.5 miles from the Apple Garage. Looks like they've gone in a loop up the A16, A1175, then A15 back towards Peterborough before disappearing for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

And this my friends on the jury is all you need as that can’t be explained. Either she was in that car texting away, or she was “in” that car whilst someone else was giving him alibis for several issues. Either way he’s disappeared for 90 minutes and the girl hasn’t been seen again

I can't remember the source but didn't SaW say early on in the missing person search that she thought East European sex traffickers from the Spalding area might have her, or some such.

ah those well known sex trafficking gangs of Spalding. Not heard of them since cummings and farage invented them in targeted Facebook campaigns!
