West Yorkshire Police said officers attended Kennerleigh Avenue, Austhorpe, at 05:55 GMT on Saturday after a young woman was found unconscious in the street. [...]

Police said the victim was about 5ft 2ins (1.57m) tall, of slim build with tanned skin.

The force believed the woman was in her mid to late teens, with green eyes and brown hair, with darker roots and blond ends. She also had fixed metal braces to her upper and lower teeth.

She had suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital for immediate medical treatment, but was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

[...]

Four people - two women aged 18, a man aged 20, and a boy aged 17 - were all arrested from a nearby address on suspicion of murder.

All four remain in police custody and a scene remains in place while the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team carry out further enquiries.

“We hope by releasing these details that someone will recognise who she is and come forward.

“I am also keen to speak to anyone who was in the Kennerleigh Avenue area in the early hours of this morning, or anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the vicinity.”

How strange that they've arrested possible suspects yet don't know the victims identity. Also, you would think if she is a teenager there must be someone missing her?

"Stabbed in the back

Officers were called at 5.55am on Saturday, 28 March to Kennerleigh Avenue,
a quiet street of bungalows in the suburb of Austhorpe, Leeds.
Neighbours performed CPR to try to save the girl.

Chloe did not live locally
but was from Cleckheaton, around 13 miles from the scene,
according to police.

Four teenagers
– two girls aged 18 and two boys aged 17 and 19 -
were arrested on suspicion of the girl’s murder and are being questioned by officers."

From the DM article above:

Tonight, on a fundraising page set up by her cousin, Shantelle, it was claimed that Chloe's 'whole life was taken in a flash over a boy.'

'16 years young (she) didn’t even make it to her 18th,' Shantelle said.

'Her mum is distraught, she has left two younger siblings behind...she didn’t deserve this. She was so full of life, such an innocent beautiful soul taken too soon.'

"Three teenagers

charged with murder of girl, 16,

who was stabbed to death.

Chloe, who had recently secured a college placement to study hair and beauty,
had attended the party at the bungalow.

Shortly before being attacked,
she had messaged a friend asking to be picked up.

She was found on the roadside in Kennerleigh Avenue shortly before 6am.

A knife believed to have been used in the attack
is understood to have been recovered by detectives.

Kayla Smith, 18, Archie Rycroft, 19, have been remanded in custody to appear before Leeds Magistrates’ Court today.

They will appear alongside with a 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

Another 18-year-old boy from Leeds has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody,
West Yorkshire Police said."

I just can't imagine how a row over a boy would result in three other teens, two of them boys, thinking this was a good idea. Usually this sort of thing is between two girls. Unless Chloe was trying to stop her 'friend' doing something with a boy...or she refused to do something with one of the boys so decided to leave.

you must take into account that all of these people were more than likely drunk or high or both.

i have heard mention of "balloons" being inhaled by all parties prior to this event occurring

If this was in the USA questions would be being asked of the parents here too - a 16 yo girl should not be 13 miles from home at 5am and die in the street without anyone having reported her missing!

kids today seem to want to grow up way too fast imho

This isn't really usual or acceptable in the UK either! We don't know why Chloe was so far from home or if her parents knew where she was though, do we?

I did wonder about the friend she asked to pick her up - did they not get the message?

Tbf we don't know what she told her parents. We all forget we used to be staying at a friend's but actually going to a party we wouldn't have been allowed to go to otherwise.

"The parents of three teenagers accused of stabbing a 16-year-old girl to death
wept in court
as their children appeared before magistrates charged with murder.

The three defendants appeared together in the dock,
wearing grey prison-issued tracksuits
with dock officers sitting between them.

The public gallery was filled with members of the defendants’ families,
who started to sob when they were brought into court.

The hearing was told the three teenagers were charged jointly
with murdering Chloe on Saturday.

Smith and Rycroft were remanded into custody,
while the 17-year-old was remanded into secure accommodation
until their next hearing at Leeds Crown Court on Thursday.

No pleas on the murder charges were indicated during the hearing.

Rycroft pleaded not guilty
to two charges of burglary and one of theft,
relating to separate incidents in March.

The 17-year-old boy pleaded not guilty
to a separate charge of burgling a house in August."

"Beautician and man accused of stabbing girl, 16, to death in 'row over a boy'

- as they appear in court accused of murder alongside teenager."

Re the headline pictures in above DM link.

Both teen girls seem to look identical

At first,
I thought DM made a mistake describing the woman on the left as an accused.

Also,
the accused teen girl is reported to be a beautician.
And it seems Chloe's ambition was to choose this particular career too - as was reported.

The teen boy looks very young,
much, much younger than his actual age IMO.

The pictures surprised me.

Terrible tragedy.
Rest in Peace, Chloe.
Sincerest Condolences to the Family :(
