I think I can understand this from the point of view of the certainty that the jury is instructed to pay heed to. I don't believe it was manslaughter though, as an observer without the responsibility for his fate.

I hope the sentence is harsh.

Brehmer was described as a "womaniser" during the two week trial at Salisbury Crown Court.

He said his affair with Mrs Parry "went bonkers" after her marriage broke down and she messaged Kate Rhodes, another of Brehmer's former partners.

She then told him to meet her at the Horns Inn, a text was sent to Martha Brehmer revealing the affair, 20 minutes later Brehmer is seen walking to the entrance of the pub, Mrs Parry was left unconscious, "half in, half out" the car.

She said Brehmer was not acting rationally on May 9 when he said Mrs Parry stabbed him.

"We would say, put onto that the suggestion that he deliberately lied which was the Crown's case in respect of murder, would not be right when considering the verdict for manslaughter."
