Well, we don't know that he did choose to get in the bin, he might have been put there. I personally think he just nodded off in the doorway after eating, rather than making a decision to do so.

We also don't know for certain that he wasn't in contact with a friend, he could have been whatsapping (or using another encrypted messaging system) someone for all we know.
Had he been put there wouldnt cctv have captured someone leaving the bin area? And if he was in contact with someone I believe we would know that. With all the info they have released I dont think that would have been kept quiet. jmo

IMO he didn't seem to be in the mood for his 'mates' that night. Spent most of it on his own.

Regardless, it just seems odd that anyone would choose a bin over their car or a phone call.

Indeed, his own car would have been preferable, but some will point out drink driving issues etc.

Went for a pee, hookup and then put into a bin? Climbed in to hide and then found, or fell asleep?

The two statements are not inconsistent. There's a world of difference between 'securing' the area and 'asking' people not to dump extra rubbish there.
What two statements are we talking about?

Nothing he did was out of the ordinary according to N apparently.

The cam is only on the entrance 20% of the time and 2 vehicles are still under investigation. Without his phone noone can be sure if he was in contact with anyone except the third parties themselves.

Has anyone came forward to say he was in contact with them after the club?

Could have been someone on Tinder or other app - not a friend.

Only SP would know that. AFAIK the last person to have contact was the person who checked on him in the doorway and we don't know who that was.

What about the guy on the phone seen by the bin man at 04.20 ? There can't have been many people and phones around at that time of the morning. Was he eliminated? C's phone must still have been there then too?

The ones being discussed just before. That of UT and that of the SP.
Ok I have found "secured" in the UT post but can't find "asked" in the SP one.

From SP 10th Feb Update.....The area of the landfill site where waste collected from Bury St Edmunds that morning was deposited has not had further items put onto it since police alerted the site, early in the investigation, to the possibility that this may need to be searched.

Your right - I inferred it from this:
'When an initial decision not to search the landfill was made we remained in contact with the site who had identified where the waste had been deposited.
'They placed nothing further on top of this. Had anything further been deposited we would have encompassed this in the current search.

So they may not have even asked. It implies it was just luck that nothing went in over it. But that only strengthens what I'm saying - the SP statement doesn't rebuff UT's claim - infact it tacitly confirms it. Thanks for pointing that out, seems like I've been giving Plod too much credit.

I wouldn't be so sure. The police may have asked for no further deposits to be made, but they weren't in a position to enforce it, they would just have to trust the tip people. So they may just mean that if it hadn't worked out, they would have carried on and searched it anyway if it became necessary.

Your welcome. SP updates indicate they 'released' the site 6 Nov. They kept in touch with the site who knew it could be searched at any time and wouldn't want to tamper with evidence. I call that police liaison and judgement not luck IMO.
