So this bit of land that some one has suggested should be searched that I suspect you can practically see from the window of the bull pub, Nicola doesn't want it searched! if I was that close to it I would have searched it my self after all this time, very strange ,

Agreed. I think many of us who've followed this case from the start have a few hmmmm feelings about it. I've felt pretty much all the way through that Nicola really only wanted a resolution if it supported her view of Corrie and that "no resolution" was better than the wrong one. But then I'm not sure that many outcomes would be more squalid than that of being found under thousands of tons of rubbish in a landfill site and she seems to have been OK with that.

Maybe I'm just a bit jaded by the way the case has been handled.

Indeed. I feel there is something getting held back. Its been over a year and a half, spending a week or so searching another area isn't going to hurt.

In my opinion it is all a bit odd:

N stayed (and has apparently continued to stay) at the Bull before Corrie was linked to Barton Mills. Why choose this place particularly?

It was the Baker who said he saw Corrie passing onto this plot of land.

The private investigator used was a friend of the family, not experienced in missing persons but used regardless.

No accounts have been provided with regards to the donations, although many questions have been asked as to how this money is being spent.

The just giving page was set up by the landlady of the bull. Probably irrelevant but will put it out there anyway.

Yes you can see the Bull from the land in question. In fact the Culvert goes from the land, under the A11 and comes out just a few meters from the pub. But it remains un searched.

With regards to the PI, are you meaning the 'military intel' guy who had debts similar to the amount he was paid?

Also if N is still living there, it's clear that she did not return to work.

Why is N located on the spot that she doesn't want to be searched?

I see what you mean, just looked at the map, thats the river lark that runs under the A11, that river starts in bse near tesco by the looks of it, very near to ware he was last seen!

If Corrie's body is under the culvert it's probably going to stay there as there is no significant river traffic here to disturb it and get it moving.

On the subject of the River Lark navigation at this point:

The navigation was officially abandoned in 1888, but despite this, commercial use of the river continued until 1928. Following acquisition by the Great Ouse Catchment Board, locks at Barton Mills and Icklingham were rebuilt in the 1960s, but were isolated when the A11 road bridge was lowered soon afterwards. It now has one operational lock at Isleham, and can be navigated to Jude's Ferry.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/River_Lark

If you look carefully at Google earth you can make it out the lock at the meadow end of the culvert as a box shaped structure.

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place...xcbfd391f759a3521!8m2!3d52.3337999!4d0.523108

The lock you can see bottom right is for a cut-off channel which goes from the Lark to the Great Ouse, joining the latter much closer to the Wash than the Lark itself does. I've not been able to find anything out about how navigable that cut-off is.

The Tesco Superstore is a mile from where C was last seen, and the River lark starts about 5 miles south of BSE.

So why was this area not searched?

Good question. IIRC the police searched the sides of the A11 north from the roundabout and the woodland either side very early. I can't remember the exact timeline of when the van driver reported seeing Corrie cross the road south of the roundabout. It may have been after the search further up the road was completed.

that land was featured in a BBC Look East report. I remember seeing it. It featured the land owner saying that it hadn’t been searched and needs to be searched soon as some type of work was going to be carried out.

ive looked back on this thread but it’s not here. On iPad and having difficulty searching BBC Look East.

i do still think that Corrie walked away of his own accord. Too much stress going on in his life.

Maybe. Dunno.

The stress we definitely know about is his mental health problem, ie depression, for which he was receiving sympathetic treatment by the RAF. Obviously if his condition did not improve significantly so he could not return to full duty it's possible that he would eventually be given a medical discharge.

The only other stress I can think of is if he knew April was or might be pregnant and his promiscuous lad-about-town lifestyle would therefore come under serious threat. But we are told in no uncertain terms that he did not know about this.

And if he did walk away we have to explain where he's been for 18 months, what he's been living on for 18 months and how he's stayed completely under the radar for 18 months (unconfirmed sightings notwithstanding).

Altojack that’s correct, the Evironment Agency want to put some kind of roadway / track in leading from the A11 to the river. Sorry I don’t know the exact details but It means excavating this area and the culvert. The landowner just wants it search before it’s disturbed and any potential evidence lost.

It's also worth mentioning that if he is in the culvert and his body could be recovered by a couple of searchers in a couple of days, the million quid search of the landfill site starts to look very questionable indeed.

His father said he did know, a few days before disappearing they were in London and C was told there. If mods think this shouldn’t be here please delete,

JMO I don’t think he felt ready to settle down, too much stress as previously said. I know he was having treatment but he was so screwed up and the only way to avoid the issues was to walk away.

That’s exactly correct. I remembered the man mentioned the culvert. I’ve looked online but can’t find the report from BBC. I know I didn’t see it on tv as I don’t watch Look East I prefer the Anglia News lol.

This article refers to corrie being upset due to a relationship ending, I presume that would be the girl before April,

I don't think she knows her son as well as she thinks she does and I wish she would stop knocking the police every opportunityshe gets. The landfill has been searched (allbeit later than she wanted) and nothing was found. She is fast losing my support. I take the point that she is very unhappy and her son is missing but please let the police do their job.

So many things in this case I just don't understand inperticuler the landfill search, the one and only thing in my mind Nicola and Martin both agreed on was that he had to be in the landfill, even Martin was out side the place in his camper van to stop them filling in the area searched , the family must now be satisfied to a degre that he is not in the landfill as we have not seen anything about them wanting more landfill searches or anymore talk about bins, we seem to be more going down the road of that corrie managed to exit the HS alive by some means, just my opinion,
