Andrew Shephard, 59, was helping his daughter rehome kittens in November last year when he tipped a box containing the animals off Twickenham Bridge in southwest London, according to U.K. newspapers Metro, Independent and the BBC.
He might have been on the way from his daughter's place to somewhere to leave the kittens, probably by foot as he was drunk.what was he doing on the bridge with them in a box if they were rehoming them? if he went there to drop them over, then I don't know why they would suspend his sentence.
Ms Evans said, however, that his sentence will be suspended, adding that the probation service believes the defendant has a ‘good chance of rehabilitation’.
Shephard, of no fixed address, was sentenced to 17 weeks’ imprisonment, suspended for a period of 18 months.
He must also complete 30 Rehabilitation Activity Requirement days, pay a £154 surcharge, and pay £85 costs.
