Devon and Cornwall Police have named the 51-year-old Plymouth man at the centre of a Dartmoor Search and Rescue mission.

David Doe, from Mannamead in Plymouth, was last seen at 10am on Sunday 19 December and police believe he may be in the Cadover Bridge area of Dartmoor National Park.

David has been described as 6ft2in tall, a heavy build with short brown hair, he 'may be' wearing jeans, a t-shirt and a puffa anorak.

Locals reported a large emergency presence in the Cadover Bridge area, on the edge of Dartmoor on Sunday evening.

Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed officers were searching for a missing person and had joined forces with Dartmoor Search and Rescue and Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.

I hate to see people commit suicide. I like to believe I would never do it, but I'm positive that if I did I would choose somewhere to do it other than where there was any chance that my moral remains might be referred to as the "Cadover cadaver"
