A man has been charged with manslaughter after a sailor was found dead after a boat collided with a channel marker.

David Haw, 24, was found dead 12 days after he went missing following an accident in the early hours of May 2, 2022.

David was identified by his dental records, an inquest in November heard.

Today, Dorset Police say they charged Morgan Smith with gross negligence manslaughter in connection with the death of a man following a boat crash in Poole Harbour.

The 21-year-old, from Southampton, will appear at Poole Magistrates' Court on June 19.
