CAN YOU HELP ?
Important update

Police are still urgently looking to locate Mr David LEE, 81, who was reported missing yesterday afternoon. We are concerned for his welfare due to his health conditions.

Mr Lee is a white male, 5ft 2 in height last seen wearing the clothing in the below image from when he was on a bus to Foxdale. Mr Lee is believed to wearing some form of hat, potentially with a number of metal pins within the front of the hat.

We have had fantastic help from the public and our partners. We are now able to give a better update on his movements.

Mr Lee got on a bus in Douglas on Thursday and got off in Foxdale. He was last sighted walking from Foxdale in the direction of the Ballamodha which would mean passing South Barrule plantation. This was at 1330 hours on Thursday.

As such our efforts were focussed on that area from yesterday evening.

We would ask that the public stay away from the above area of South Barrule plantation at this time as we will have scent sensitive dogs in the area tracking. We do appreciate the public’s help and we will keep you informed of developments or assistance we may require.

The below is vitally important.

If you have seen Mr Lee in the last 24 hours, please contact Police HQ on 631212, or email [email protected]

Please do not rule out sightings elsewhere in the area but please bear in mind the recent images.

If you are with Mr Lee or have spotted him recently, please call 999.

Thank you

An update said: ‘Despite a lot of effort today we have been unable to locate David Lee aged 81 years.

'From enquiries there is a strong possibility he has walked past the Coffee Cottage at South Barrule and along the A36 shoulder road towards the Round Table crossroads.

‘He has had a connection in the past with the Earystane area which is down the Colby Glen road but he could also have headed along and down the Sloc or right to Eairy Cushlin.

‘It would have been the afternoon of the Southern 100 races on Thursday.

‘Did you see him, did you give him a lift?

‘If you walk or ride in these areas please look out for David.

‘If you live in these areas please check your gardens, sheds, outhouses and vehicles.

‘You will have noted staff and drones in
the area but it’s a large area to search so your help is appreciated.

‘Please do not put yourself at risk and just follow the above advice. If anyone saw him on the above routes from Thursday onwards let us know ASAP.’

David LEE has been located. He is alive and was able to talk to officers. He has gone to hospital for treatment.

We would like to express our thanks to the Great Manx Public for all your help. We would also like to thank local media, all partner agencies and all those who helped out.

He was located thanks to a member of the public and was near one of the recreational trails in South Barrule. He indicated he had recently walked into that location and that he had been walking around the area for some days.

Miraculous! With the weather I doubt he would have survived for much longer.
