Police were called by the Coastguard at 2.20pm yesterday (Thursday, January 17) following reports that the body of a man had been located on the beach at Instow.

He is described as a white man, around 5ft 8ins tall and of proportionate build.

It’s also believed he may have had some facial hair, possibly a moustache.

He has two distinctive tattoos on his left arm, these are described as:
  • A red devil smoking a cigarette, on his upper arm/bicep
  • The word ‘east’ featured within a picture, on his forearm
He was wearing distinctive navy blue New Balance trainers with a red ‘N’ logo on the side.

He was also wearing two rubber wrist bands, one in support of Wales Online Cancer Research, the second featuring a heart.

It's believed the body was found on the beach near the old oil jetty along the South West Coast Path, near the North Devon Cricket Club.

Police said it had been "deceased for a considerable amount of time".

I wonder if the "Wales Online Cancer Research" band is a clue?

Red Devil could be associated with Manchester United. Not that that narrows it down since it's famous for having supporters all over! It's not far from Wales though. And Instow is about 40 miles from Wales across the Bristol Channel.

A picture of the East tattoo would be useful. Could be the name of a bar or business in Wales.

the red devil smoking tattoo is a common style by an artist known as CooP.

Or, could be someone who jumped off the bridge in Bristol (momentarily forgotten the name) which is infamous for suicides.

Done a little digging.....Ink Station tattoo studio may be the place to look..,
Some searching brought me a very select band of results....3 of which indicated that Ink station may have done that tattoo
They have shops in cardiff and neath and perhaps others too
But this may be a starting point
