On Friday (March 25) at 10.46am the jury was sent out to consider verdicts in the case - which has now entered its 10th week - after the honourable Mr Justice Murray finished summing up evidence in the case.

A jury will resume its deliberations on Monday in the case of a man accused of murdering his baby daughter and his wife who is charged with allowing the death of a child.

They were sent home at just after 4.11pm on Friday and will resume deliberations on Monday (March 28).

A jury will begin a fourth day of deliberations on Wednesday in the case of a man accused of murdering his daughter and his ex-wife who is charged with allowing the death of a child.

Both defendants had denied all offences, but on Wednesday (March 30) Christopher Easey was found not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter by a jury following more than 20 hours of deliberations.


He was also found guilty of cruelty against his daughter.

Carly Easey was found not guilty of allowing the death of her daughter but guilty of cruelty.

Verdicts in the case followed a 10-week trial during which the jury heard that baby Eleanor had sustained 31 rib fractures, including 17 at the front and 14 at the back, which were found to have occurred at four different times.


Christopher Easey and Carly Easey will be sentenced April 29 at Norwich Crown Court.

Both parents had been on bail throughout the six week trial. The judge extended the bail of Carly Easey to reappear at court for sentencing.

Easey was sentenced to 14 years in prison for manslaughter and one year for child cruelty, and both sentences will run concurrently.

His co-defendant, Carly Easey, was given a 12-month community order for child cruelty with requirements to take part in a specified programme of activities.
