He had to be removed from court! She shrugged as if to say "Big deal"!! He was led out shouting "Sentence me now. The quicker you sentence me the quicker I can appeal". Sentencing 12.30 - custodial for her too. More bad character evidence to come out now for him for the sentencing.
will report back later but wanted to come out of court to text you all ASAP.

In an emotional outburst in court, Ellie’s grandfather Neal Gray is said to have warned her: ‘You will have blood on your hands.’
It can now be revealed Hogg dismissed evidence of domestic abuse, glossed over convictions for violence and overlooked Butler and Gray’s admitted lies.
Butler was jailed in July 2001 for attempted robbery and intimidating witnesses and by 2006 had committed a string of drunken attacks on victims including Hillman.
But the High Court judge believed him when he said he was ‘not that bad’ and accepted Gray’s evidence that regular facial bruising was caused by Botox injections.

In desperate internet searches not shown to the jury, Gray revealed how Butler broke her nose and stabbed her in the leg when she was pregnant.
Butler beat her on her birthday and a work colleague described seeing a ‘Tom and Jerry’ type lump on her forehead the following day.
He even attacked her in hospital where she had used a fake name to escape his domestic violence.
Gray was also subjected to an almost constant tirade of vile text messages that police said in itself amounted to a ‘very serious form of abuse’.
The violence was not restricted to his partner, with both children suffering a string of injuries in the short time they spent with their parents.

Butler’s effort to regain custody of Ellie had included an extraordinary press campaign by the former PR guru Max Clifford and was successful in spite of warnings from the child’s grandfather and the local council.

Neal Gray, 70, who had cared for Ellie since she was 10 weeks old, spent all of his £70,000 savings fighting Butler in the courts.

It can be reported for the first time that he warned Mrs Justice Hogg, the high court judge who ruled on returning Ellie to her father in 2012, that she would have “blood on her hands” if she did so.

“My words have come true,” Gray said in an exclusive interview with the Guardian during the trial.

Following a high court application by the media for the release of family court judgments related to the case, it emerged that the high court judge Mrs Justice King concluded in 2014 that “Ellie died as a result of the father either hitting her on the back of the head with the leg of a child’s table, or swinging her with such violence that her head came so forcefully into contact with the table leg … and she sustained the skull fracture”.

Will catch up properly later -- have been having a lovely busy morning with my two beautiful, cherished small daughters -- but thank you, jury, for coming to this decision. I cried.

Wow, you're there. Fab.

I only just realised , I am on catch up .

SO PLEASED we have the verdicts we wanted. Justice. We kept the faith in that jury.
The reactions - typical.

Can't wait to hear the rest after you've had a glass of something special at a lawyer's bar near court! :toastred:
