Tiny bit of the This Morning interview here. How many times can you say "you know" in one sentence? Gigi- I believe this is usually used when the speaker is lying. Have you come across this in your profiling before?

ETA: Did anybody watch This Morning today? Apparently the case was discussed on there

More from the above link,

Asked if Butler had used delaying tactics by changing his defence team, he said: "I don't know because I am not privy to conversations he had with his counsel.

"On at least one occasion it was his counsel withdrawing from him. The reasons for that she didn't disclose. It's none of my business. We are effectively on the third set of legal barristers, solicitors."

I knew he had sacked the legal team, but didn't realise it was in fact the third team he had used at the trial. Was this all paid for by the state?

Not a generational thing, JG has very clear narcissistic tendencies. Did you see SallyLa's post? Also the SCR.

Yes I did see the post but haven't read the SCR yet, just flicking through some MSM reports, hence the millions of posts.

Sally write a long and very interesting post about her experiences of JG when they were friends in their late teens. The post was deleted (as was my reply quoting it) even though it wasn't against the rules.

PM.....

You are a self absorbed, ill tempered, violent and domineering man who, I am satisfied, regarded
your children and your partner as trophies having no role other than to fit in with your infantile
and sentimentalised fantasy of family life with you as the patriarch whose every whim was to be
responded to appropriately.

The judge does not pull any punches.

JG's notes are here too, but he's a bit more sympathetic to her https://www.judiciary.gov.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/r-v-butler-gray-sentencing.pdf

Thanks for this link it has a tiny bit of BB video interview with police , presume 2013 right after he killed her, snivelling, play-acting
Also on delaying tactics, cause I know we all discussed why they changed solicitors before. One set , sacked him off.

The couple were due to stand trial last year, but it collapsed at the last minute after Butler sacked his legal team, and the pair changed their defence statements.

Yes Flutterby. All the more to 'fill' a closely rehearsed speech. They've crossed the t's and dotted the i's. If you notice. Even while in court. Her more so than he. Would 'fill' sentences. With inane comments. 'YOU know' 'you see' it's as if to throw off tangent.
Example. There's less to say if the sentence/paragraph is filled with inane quotes. (Less to go wrong n be caught lying)
-rehearsed- -remembering lines-
They worked so closely together on their charade. 190 visits... I mean come on. More than enough time to collude.

What S4C did/ didn't do .....

The independent social worker, whose job it was to oversee the transition, last visited the Butler household in March 2013 and issued a final report to the council in April, S4C said.

The organisation, which consists of two staff, confirmed S4C had been informed by Ellie's school of her poor attendance and had impressed on the parents how important it was.

S4C said it was unaware of physical abuse against Gray in early 2013.

However, the local authority had been notified of one instance when she gave false details during a hospital visit and asked the social worker to follow it up as part of child protection investigations.

A record of a meeting with the couple was sent to the council and no further action was taken, S4C said.

The organisation stressed that letters from Butler's team would not have hindered their work in passing on concerns and following safeguarding procedure.

A spokeswoman said: "On the 30th October S4C became aware of the tragic death of Ellie. S4C were contacted by Sutton Borough Council's safeguarding board regarding the Serious Case Review and have inputted into that process with a report and an interview.

"Since Ellie's death and throughout the recent trial we have often thought of the impact of Ellie's death on members of her family. We recognise the sorrow they must have experienced in the time that has elapsed."

Mrs Justice Hogg refused to comment on the case.

Ok, Sutton Council aren't totally coming out of this unscathed

A Sutton councillor has been urged to resign after implying she hoped the EU referendum would "divert" the media's attention away from the murder of six-year-old Ellie Butler.

Wendy Mathys, chair of the children, families and education committee, was accused of being "more concerned with the council's and her own political reputation" following comments sent in an email just minutes after Ellie's dad Ben Butler was convicted of her killing.

from your link
" I am satisfied that from, at the latest, late summer 2013 you subjected Ellie to a series of physical
attacks, when she was in your sole care, in which she sustained injuries for none of which you
sought medical attention. You lied to Jennie Gray about how she came by these injuries and she,
totally beholden to and dominated by you, felt she had no option but to believe you and collude
in your ill treatment of her.
As a consequence, Ellie was kept away from school for significant
periods during which you and Jennie Gray told lies to the school and to the GP who, on one
occasion, wrote a careful letter for the school recording what she was told was the reason for
Ellie’s absence

BIB mmmmmm:thinking:

Yep all from the public purse.
You are privy on arrest to legal advice. And a Solicitor will be assigned your case. And with you throughout yr bail/remand. Till Court. Then a member of the team will represent. All that x3 a pretty pennies worth I'm sure. If anyone has had dealings of 'paid' a solicitor for work...
