"Scores of armed police have been seen outside a hotel in Manchester city centre tonight.

Witnesses reported seeing 15 police cars were said to be gathered outside the Ibis Budget Hotel on Trafford Road.

At least three ambulances were also seen outside the building, which is half a mile from Manchester United's iconic Old Trafford ground.

One witness told the Manchester Evening News of seeing a woman "with blood on her".

Others told of hearing "horrific" and "blood-curdling" screams.

Lindsay Avery wrote online: "I heard the screams and saw people in panic, I called an ambulance because it seemed someone had been hit by a car.

"I couldn't actually see anything though, just some very distressed people.

Kenny Turton-Ainsworth added: "Not sure what happened but the screams were blood curdling! Very upsetting whatever it is."

I haven't read anymore about this. It's such a tragedy the little boy was only 17 months old.
