Missing woman 'may have come to harm'

Police believe a woman missing from her home in Kilmarnock for over a week may have come to harm.

Emma Faulds was last seen at about 21:10 on Sunday 28 April in the Monkton area of Ayrshire.

Police said it was "alarming" that the 39-year-old had not been in touch with friends and family, and that she had left behind her beloved pet dog.

Officers are carrying out a forensic examination of her car and searching properties in Monkton.

They said family and friends were "distraught" at not knowing where she is or what might have happened to her.

And they appealed for help from anyone who saw Ms Faulds or her car in the lead-up to her disappearance.

Police said she normally drives a blue BMW 1 Series M Sport with the distinctive registration number F5 EMA.

Her car has been removed by officers and is undergoing a full forensic examination.

Specialist officers have been searching areas and properties in the Monkton area, including two cars which are also being examined.

Ms Faulds is described as white, around 5ft 3in tall, with a slim, athletic build, long blonde hair, a pale complexion and blue eyes.

Detectives are also searching CCTV footage for any sightings of the missing youth worker or her car.

Det Ch Insp Martin Fergus from Police Scotland's major investigations team said: "Emma is in constant contact with her family and friends and the fact that she has not been heard from is alarming.

"Emma also has a dog, a west highland terrier, and she would never leave it for any length of time without ensuring someone is able to look after it.

"We are liaising with Emma's family and we now believe that she may have come to harm."

Seen on bbc news they are searching the home of a male friend of Emma’s. The Sun have named him saying he was also one of her fb friends and had shared the police appeal for Emma since she went missing but can’t find much other info yet.

Detectives are trying to trace the movements of the car belonging to missing Ayrshire woman Emma Faulds, in the hours after she was last seen.

The last sighting of the 39-year-old was at about 21:10 on Sunday 28 April 2019 in Fairfield Park, Monkton.

But officers believe her blue BMW was outside her home in Fullarton Street, Kilmarnock at 07:30 the next day.

They said information about where the car was driven and when it was parked may help them locate Ms Faulds.

From that link:
________________

We can reveal Mr Willox told cops he went for a walk with Emma and her westie Maverick.

But he insisted he dropped them off at his old pal’s flat 12 miles away in Kilmarnock.

[...]

“Detectives have spoken to her neighbours who confirm they saw him drop back the dog.

"They don’t recall seeing Emma though.”

Well, I think they are going to figure this one out - hope there is evidence (sounds like loads IMO). So very sad for those who know and love Emma... and for Maverick...

I'd be very surprised if this didn't end up with a murder charge.

I saw a missing poster for her today at a train station :(

I don't know why but seeing a physical poster gets to me way more than a shared social media post ever does.

Whoever put up the poster I saw had the good sense to use a full colour picture of her plus they had it protected from the elements in a plastic pocket thingy.
