She claimed that the pair blew cannabis smoke over the baby "as pain relief." She told the court that Finley had so much cannabis in his body that the level was over the legal driving limit five days after his death.

During cross-examination at Derby Crown Court, she went on: "It took two hands, one of you squeezed him, fractured the pelvis, fractured the collar bones of Finley, who was crying and screaming in pain.
"Whilst one of you was fracturing his bones the other, one hand over the mouth, gripping the head, shoving the dummy in."

I just cannot imagine how someone can do that to their son. He was 10 months old.....RIP

I don't understand why Finley was returned to them if he'd been removed for drug use, domestic abuse and hygiene reasons and the same concerns were still evident?

They lived with the toddler for 39 days in Holland Road, Old Whittington. After his death on Christmas Day 2020, he was found with 130 injuries, including 59 fractured bones and burns to a hand.
"They worshipped weed in the same way others worship God - it can do no wrong," said Ms Prior.

"They are literally trying to get away with murder," said Ms Prior.
She said their plan was for each to deny seeing anything but the barrister told the jury: "It doesn't work because you have physical clear signs of how this happened, both of them holding the baby's mouth shut, causing it to tear.
"There is only one explanation - they are in it together.
"They have pat phrases of wanting justice for Finley. You can give him that, ladies and gentlemen," she said in her last words to the jury.

You know, I don't doubt that Stephen was a violent and controlling partner who Shannon was with from a very young age.

I also, frankly, don't care. If you allow your child to be harmed to save your own skin or lifestyle you are a failure of a parent and a human almost without exception. I hope they both rot.

Hats off to the police and paramedics that responded. What an awful traumatic job to be sent to at Christmas.

Can’t understand why the jury is taking so long thought it would be easy verdicts
