I suppose human excrescence Rose West may have won some sort of 'baking contest' (wait what?) in prison (is this the done thing?). However, four short years ago, she allegedly (you read right) had grown a mustache which kept other inmates at bay.

Life has itself become a tabloid feature in those four short long years. Who knows.
From the Sun article about her growing a mustache:

Serial killer Rose West ‘grows a moustache’ in prison
... she is known to have a cosy life in jail – earning £10.50 as a cleaner on
the wing and enjoying “enhanced” prisoner status.

It means she can furnish her single cell with bedding, curtains and rugs from
Argos catalogues and buy make-up from Avon brochures.

She also has a PlayStation.

Sadistic British serial killer Rosemary West is planning to appeal her sentence so she can avoid dying behind bars.

A judge initially sentenced Rose West to 25 years in prison, however that was later increased to a full life term by then then Home Secretary, Jack Straw.

But according to the Daily Star, West, now aged 66, has told fellow inmates at Low Newton prison, County Durham, that she will lodge an appeal against her sentence in the new year.

"West is convinced that she has become a political prisoner and that no Home Secretary will dare overturn her whole-life tariff because it would be too politically damaging,” the source said.

"Nevertheless, she is determined to try. She has now served 23 years in prison. She maintains that even if she was guilty, she has served her time."

Rose West gets prison move after triple murderer threatens to kill her
EXCLUSIVE: Rose West's cushy prison regime is over after psycho stabber Joanna Dennehy moved into top-security Low Newton jail and threatened to kill her

21 JUL 2019

"...House of Horrors fiend West burst into tears as prison chiefs packed up her belongings for a secret transfer after psycho stabber Joanna Dennehy was moved to the same jail.

Insiders at top-security Low Newton where West, 65, has been held for more than ten years say she was gutted to lose her easy life.

But jail bosses feared Dennehy – who enjoyed stabbing three men to death – would carry out a similar attack on West after saying: “I’ll kill that b****.”..."

Rose West living in cushy cell on wing named after Lord Of The Rings Hobbit haven (with clip)

27th July 2019

"The House of Horrors fiend has landed one of 30 special “rooms” for women with dangerous and severe personality disorders in HMP New Hall’s Rivendell unit.

“Residents” can care for free-range chickens in the self-contained block, which prison inspectors say offers an “excellent, therapeutic environment”.

They have their own “downtime” room with a fish tank and comfy couches where they can read books and magazines.
Another communal room is used for creative pursuits such as art, crafts and baking...."

Killer Rose West complains of being kept awake in West Yorkshire prison
The serial murderer claims other inmates are keeping her awake

12 AUG 2019

"Britain's most notorious female prisoner Rose West is complaining of 'sleepless nights' at her new jail in West Yorkshire.

West, who murdered several girls and young women with her husband Fred, says 'screaming' inmates and staff pacing up and down her wing are keeping her awake at night.

"It’s bedlam on the unit at night", a source told The Daily Star.

It is reported West, 65, is on the Rivendell wing, at HMP New Hall, between Huddersfield and Wakefield. The wing houses inmates at risk of self-harm and suicide away from the general prison population.

Although West has her own cell she is not getting much peace at night after her transfer to New Hall from maximum security Low Newton Prison, near Durham.

"Officers who do a week of nights are shattered when they come off the rota. The place is a madhouse and the noise from the women is horrendous", a source told The Daily Star.

"West has moaned to fellow inmates that she is turning in with a pillow over her head to try and escape the racket but she still can’t get any shut eye."..."

there could be so many more victims...so many.

I wonder what the ‘possible evidence of a body’ could be?

Apparently something was found during filming for a documentary with Trevor Macdonald. No idea what the possible evidence could be though.

I’m wracking my brains trying to think of what they may have found after all these years. I’ve always believed there must have been other victims. Jmo.

I can only assume it was a documentary about the West murders, or about Mary Bastholm specifically. So I hear Mary used to work in this cafe before she went missing, and then Fred is known to have laid the floor there around the same time, so a documentary about either/both would make sense.

BBC news reporter live in Gloucester just confirmed that the documentary was about Fred and Rose West

Wow. What are the chances of that.... filming a tragic story only finding you unravel additions to the story. That poor lady.

The film crew told police on Friday they had found evidence that a body could be buried within the property.

"On the basis of the information provided to us, we consider this to be new and potentially important evidence in the case of Mary Bastholm, however further detailed assessments will take place over the following few days to determine the extent of excavation needed.

The cafe has been there for decades and has been under several different names.

One of its waitresses was Mary, who was 15 at the time when Fred West was a regular customer and was known to him.

It was also known he was a builder at the time renovation was needed on the cellar and the toilets at the cafe - work he was believed to have carried out in 1968.
