I don't know about his dog, but the pub seems to still be going, according to its Facebook page. I'm guessing that Georg was a tenant rather than the owner, and the owners (the brewery) have installed another tenant. I know of 4 pubs where the tenant has just upped sticks and done a moonlight flit.
