Such a sad case . Living close to this I’ve kept up to date on all aspects of the case .
Sadly I do believe she got herself involved with drugs and is no longer with us .
Whilst my heart breaks for her mum and admire her for never giving up she doesn’t seem to want to accept Georgina might have led this life .
I sincerely hope one day her mum gets the closure she desperately deserves .

And what the programme turned up of interest, but with no conclusion as to what happened to her, was that she would not be turning up again (in the words of a former senior police officer), her alleged association with members of Albanian drug gangs operating in the Worthing and Brighton areas, and her working at Albion Kebabs, owned by the the Albanian Dema family.

It does sound like she maybe got involved in something, crossed one of them, and that was her undoing.

You can watch the TV doc here (not sure of available outside of UK).

I do not believe she is dead, I strongly feel she is alive & well, but feel somebody close to her knows more then they do and is hiding something, maybe a friend of a friend.

One day she will return home,

Wish I shared your optimism...

i also sadly feel that the optimism is misplaced - i believe that the police know way more than they admit publicly in this case

Yes, GG has 2 kids and was close to her family. It's not very likely she's just out of the blue decided to never see or speak to them again. That's very rare and would have been completely out of character for her.

I agree that the police probably know a lot more about what happened to her and who her associates were etc. I hope her family get answers.

The mother of a woman missing for eight years says she fears dying without ever knowing what happened to her.

Georgina Gharsallah was last seen in Worthing, West Sussex, on 7 March 2018.

On the day she went missing, the 38-year-old had arranged to meet her father after collecting a mobile phone, but she did not turn up.

Andrea Gharsallah said: "Some days I think I'm never going to see Georgina again. It's overwhelmingly sad."
Mum-of-two Georgina was last spotted on CCTV in a shop on Clifton Road, while a second unconfirmed sighting had her walking down Chapel Road with an as yet unidentified woman, police said.

A murder inquiry began in August 2019 and a £20,000 reward via the charity Crimestoppers was subsequently offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for her disappearance.

Forgive me as I only learned about this case yesterday. Does anyone else think this stinks of Wayne Couzens? I don’t know why, but when I read the initial details I seen so many parallels between Sarah Everard's disappearance and Georgina’s. I googled where both were last seen and they are only an hour away from each other.

I see there’s lots of speculation about Albanian drug gangs, sex work and whatever else, it doesn’t seem like any of it is confirmed? So many people were shocked and wondered how Wayne Couzen’s had gone under the radar for so long and I’m wondering if he just wasn’t caught. Let’s be honest, Georgina hasn’t had even a quarter of the coverage and it sounds like the initial investigation was god awful.

Edit to add:

Georgina went missing on March 7th 2018 and Sarah went missing on March 3rd 2021. It might be nothing but it all seems very similar to me.

I'm somewhat local to this case, and I think about it a lot. Ultimately I have two theories, and I've done multiple deepdives on the case as it doesn't seem to make much sense at all.

Theory one is suicide. Being near the coast there are a large amount of suicides by drowning, with many being reported missing as their body will likely not be found. One off the top of my head is Owen Harding, last seen on Beachy Head during COVID and not seen again. Beachy head is a common place for those struggling to take their own lives, unfortunately. Georgina was anxious and bulemic, as well as being prone to drinking (Disappearance of Georgina Gharsallah - Wikipedia), so I don't think it's out of the relam of possibility that she may have been struggling to the point of suicide. One thing I can't fathom about this is how she was not seen on CCTV: I tried to research cameras nearby the shoreline in Worthing at that time, but didn't have much luck.

Second theory is foul play, specifically related to drugs. It's pretty well known in Brighton that there's a large drug scene, many of those involved being Albanian. Such gangs have been pretty violent historically, for example Altin Molita who was stabbed by a so-called "murder gang," and another man being fatally shot over a dispute between two Albanian families in Hove. I don't want to make any assumptions, but given Georgina's last job in a kebab shop which was "used as a front by an Albanian crime family. This family reportedly supplied Class A drugs in the Brighton and Worthing area. The family gang enjoyed a reputation for violence. Gharsallah appeared to be well-acquainted with members of this family. The father of her two children had also worked in the kebab shop," it doesnt seem out of the question that this relationship could have gone south. IMO there's a good chance that a struggling mother may have made a difficult decision and a subsequent mistake.

I could be completely wrong, and I'm speaking from my own experience only. There's a decent docuentary on Channel 4 about her disappearance, for those based in the UK, I'll try to find it now. JMO

Looking through CCTV again, looks like hair straighteners to me, you can also see a cable attached. Staying the night somewhere? That's the only reason you'd need to bring them, IMO.
