A major raid in Birmingham by counter-terrorist officers.

Three days ago they had a mock drill of an attack

I am not sure if I am remember this right or not but wasnt there some sort of practice mock training in another terrorist attack right before the attack happened?

I think I recall in another attack that LE just happened to have some training going on either the day before or the day of even.

Cant remember which incident.

Maybe there is some sort of connection to cause terror in the face of people training to stop it.

Does anyone remember which one or the training it was in the other incident?

I could have sworn it was similar type thing about training or mock training and then terror happened.

The killer began his rampage at the south side of Westminster Bridge.

  • One of his first victims was a blonde woman. She was seen lying on the ground with blood pouring from a head wound – and shock in her eyes.
  • A few feet away another person lay on their back, surrounded by people trying to help.
  • A man appeared to have either jumped or been thrown from the bridge, and had fallen to concrete steps about 18ft below. He lay motionless with a dark pool of blood around his head and his leg obviously broken.
  • Moving along the bridge, a bald man lay on the white line between the bus lane and main carriageway, clutching his head.
  • One of the most harrowing scenes was the sight of a woman’s legs poking out from under the wheel of a London double-decker bus. It appeared she was either struck by the terrorist or may have tried to dodge him, only to run into the path of the No 53.
  • A few feet further along was a man on his back. His trainers were scattered nearby and his socks torn. He held one bloodied hand up in the air. A smartly dressed woman was crouched by his head, cradling him, bent over so her face was almost touching his.
  • Then there was a shell-shocked person with curly hair, sitting up. Nearby on the pavement lay fragments of what looked like parts of the car, possibly the bumper.
  • A little further along was a bearded man, wearing a black blazer, lying on his back with his face smeared with blood. He was surrounded by passers-by, one of whom appeared to be taking his pulse.
  • A woman in long black boots was next, lying on her back as people tried to help her.
  • The last victim on the bridge, on the Palace of Westminster side, appeared to be a man who was receiving urgent treatment from paramedics administering oxygen and inserting a drip into his arm.

There were also 3 policeman hit and 3 French schoolchildren. I hope all those that are injured make a full recovery and the death toll does not increase.

RIP Keith Palmer, 48, police officer just doing his job
RIP Aysha Frade, 43, on her way to pick to her kids up from school

I dont think so because that one sounds like just training.

The one I recall was a real terrorist attack and I seem to recall the news talking about how law enforcement agencies of some sort had just happened to be training for terrorist nearby.

I thought it may have been the christmas large truck attack that mowed people down but cant find anything that matched what I remember.

I did find this report but it seems coincidental.

"But two months before the training exercise was to take place, the city was hit with a real terrorist attack executed in a frighteningly similar fashion."

Another difference in our languages:

"He was told that a car had mounted the pavement and driven the whole way, from south to north, across the bridge, knocking people over."

In USA, we would say the car went up on the sidewalk.

Wishing speedy recovery to the remaining injured.

WOW. OMG.
I found it and I found this link where someone is thinking just like I am thinking about this.

It was the San Bernandino incident I had remembered.

""On the day of the mass shooting in San Bernardino, Calif., the city's SWAT team was training for an active shooter situation just minutes away from the scene of the massacre.""

"In reporting on many major mass murder and terrorist events in the US and Europe in the last 15 years, including the recent Paris massacre and killings in San Bernardino, CA, respected media sources have revealed that by "coincidence" a drill was being held the same day and in the same city of the event. Not only that, the drills were practicing for what actually happened."

"The UK's Guardian reported, "In an eerie coincidence, last Friday morning Paris’s ambulance, fire services and hospitals had rehearsed a scenario based on a Charlie Hebdo-style attack, with more than 100 casualties from shooting. Hours later this scenario happened for real.""

I wonder if the terrorists know that LE officials will all be at the training and so they try to time the attack so that officials cannot respond quickly.

It also flies in the face of authorities when they do that and time the attack during their training.

Some may have been coincidence but I think some were planned to coincide during the training. I am convinced now since I found that link where someone else also thinks this.

Wow. I wont keep bringing this up but glad I found it because Carris post made a light bulb go off for me when I saw something about mock training.

Re the raided flat:
The area that the raided flat is in isnt too far from myself (or other WS'ers who i am sure will corroborate) and it isnt an affluent area at all. Its a rather diverse area with a lot of migration. Many homes and flats are split into small bed sits and there are a lot of rent by the week properties available through private landlord's.

I used to work in Vicarage Road across the dual carriageway from that parade of shops. That particular area has been seedy for as long as I've been in the area. Indeed there used to be a knocking shop upstairs above one of those shops, though it doesn't seem to be there now according to Google street view.

It's actually a funny area. There's student accommodation being built there at present, and as you go east towards the city, you hit several 4* hotels and a number of major company HQ office blocks around Five Ways.

There's also a rather exclusive private Catholic school there. Strangely enough, car crime used to go through the roof around there during term times. It was so bad my company used to have to patrol the carparks during the school's lunchtime.

A couple of hundred yards behind those shops is Perrott's Folly, the 18th century weather observation tower, which is believed to be Tolkien's inspiration for the tower of Minas Tirith.

More news on the injured:

French schoolchildren
Three French schoolchildren on a school trip to London were among those injured as pedestrians were struck by a car on Westminster Bridge. They are from the St Joseph's School in Concarneau, Brittany. The three injured pupils are expected to return to France on Thursday - two of them are reported to have suffered serious fractures, but none is thought to be in a critical condition. More than 90 students from the school were on the trip to London.

British students
Four students from from Edge Hill University in Ormskirk, Lancashire were among those injured in the Westminster attack.
Owen Lambert and Travis Frain were struck when a car drove along the pavement on Westminster Bridge at the outset of the attack. They were part of a group of 13 students on a visit, with a lecturer, to the Houses of Parliament. Mr Lambert, 18, from Morecambe, is understood to have required stitches to a head wound, while Mr Frain, from Darwen, suffered a wrist injury. Two other students needed treatment for lesser injuries.

Three police officers
Two of whom are in a serious condition, were also injured as they returned from an event marking their bravery in service, the Metropolitan Police said.

Four South Korean tourists
In their 50s and 60s were hurt in a rush of people trying to flee the attack, South Korea's Foreign Ministry said.

Also among the injured were 12 British citizens, two Romanians, two Greeks, one German, one Pole, one Irish citizen, one Chinese person, one Italian and one American

Great local flavor - thank you!!

What's a knocking shop?

Yes, I'm not surprised there were so many non-Brits involved, it's a very touristy part of the city. We always go to see Big Ben and the river when we go and have crossed that bridge many times. I read that the people who were up in the London Eye were kept up there for some time afterwards, that must have been scary being 400ft up in a class capsule, and they'll have seen it all unfolding.

It really gets me when tourists get caught up in these incidents. Holidays (vacations) should be happy times full of excitement and fun. I only recently found out my neighbours daughter was in the Tunisian beach attacks, she wasn't hurt physically but is still having an awful time recovering from the shock, the noise, and what she saw.

Agreed. I keep hearing that there may have been two attackers. What is going on ????

There is always early reports of two or multiple perps in these attacks. The last terror attack I mentioned in the threads here that the next one would be the same thing.... early reports of multiple perps, later downgraded to one lone wolf. And here we are.
The next one will be the same thing again.

My god, please tell me someone else is seeing the pattern.

I did hear that arrests were made after residences were raided in connection to the case. It was in the video of Theresa May's address posted above. Unknown what the arrests were for, though.
