Not a lot on this case as yet.

Hana Solarova was last seen in Hastings, East Sussex early on 11 July 2021 before due to catch the 07.50hrs train to London Charing Cross. From there she was due to get to Victoria Coach Station to catch a coach home to Brno, Czech Republic.

She never made the coach.

Hana is 5'5", in early 40s, hair in a ponytail and was wearing dark jeans and a tee shirt.

CCTV cameras show Hana arrived at Charing Cross Station at 08.53hrs on July 11.

Worryingly, her sister says her 'mental health is not great'.

I don't know how familiar she was with London, or how she planned to get from CX to VCS.

Walk would be too far. Easiest would be the 11 bus from Trafalgar Square which would take her right there.

The tube would mean a walk to Embankment station to Victoria, then a walk from rail station to coach station.

Or a black taxi.

Could she have got lost, or been offered a lift by a bogus cab driver?

There seems some discrepancy with the train times.

To have been seen at Charing Cross at 08.53, she would had to have caught the 06.50hrs train which arrives at 08.48. The next 07.50 train would not have got her to London until 09.48 and so could not have been caught on camera at 08.53.

Getting a coach to Brno in the Czech Republic seems crazy. It must take near 2 whole days!

I'm sure a cheap flight with Ryanair or another low-cost carrier would have been the same price - if not cheaper!
Or Czech Airlines flies from Heathrow. Easy.

Also, I'm not sure about the Covid implications of crossing all those international borders on the way....France, Germany, Austria and then CZ. It sounds mad!

I wonder if she actually purchased this long-distance bus ticket, or was she just telling her sister a story??

Did - or does - a London to Brno coach/bus even exist?

Yes, this is the way I do it and which makes the most sense.

Embankment Tube station is just around the corner from Charing X station and down a little path... only a 2 to 3 minute walk.

Again, Victoria Railway Station to Victoria Coach Station is only a 5 min walk down the same road. About 300 metres.

There must be enough CCTV outside Charing X and on the building and shops opposite in The Strand to know which direction she headed.

Although of course, if her mental state isn't good, then the river is only a couple of minutes walk away too....but I do think she would have been seen trying to jump into the river, especially at this time of the morning with people around.

@annpats I would do the bus, less walking, particularly if she had luggage, and I presume she must have had at least one large case or rucksack.

Well, it does exist at least:

Coach Information between London and Brno There are direct coach services available. You can get the cheapest coach tickets for this journey for as low as £58, but the average price of coach tickets is £64. Travellers depart most frequently from London Victoria and arrive in Brno, Hlavní Nádraží.

Takes over 21hrs! Blimey, I personally couldn't do that journey, on a coach.

There is one at 11am on a Sunday, so presumably given timings, the one she was booked on.

I did wonder about luggage. Was she moving back to her native country for good, or just for a little holiday?

Perhaps she just needs some time alone to get her head together.....I hope that's the case.

Just had a look and it says average journey time is 21 hours and 50 mins!!

Sitting bolt upright in a small seat on a coach for that amount of time is crazy! It sounds a bit desperate.

Maybe the thought of it started to put her off travelling and she decided to stay in London for a bit.

I wonder if she had arranged to meet anyone or even looked for a place to stay for a few days. That's when the trouble can happen....lone females meeting dodgy people in dodgy places.

Could have had a fear of flying too maybe? That or maybe she wasn't Covid vacc'd? Not sure what the restrictions are currently, but the cost of a cheap flight wouldn't be that much more than the coach and takes just a few hours compared to 21.

Police in East Sussex are concerned for the welfare of Hana Solarova, 43, who has been missing since 11 July.

Hana, who is from the Czech Republic, has been resident in the UK for 12 years, mainly in the Hastings area.

She is described as white, 5'4", slim, with long brown hair usually worn in a pony tail. She was wearing a green coat to her mid thighs, blue jeans and was carrying a large black suitcase, a black hand luggage bag and a brown handbag.

On the morning of Sunday 11 July morning she left her address in St Leonards and travelled by train from Warrior Square station to Charing Cross station in London arriving at 9:49am, intending to catch a coach to the Czech Republic but she has not left the country.

Police in East Sussex are concerned for the welfare of Hana Solarova, 43, who has been missing since 11 July.

Her last known communication was with her mother in the Czech Republic by Facetime at 9.30pm that night.

Whilst there are currently no suspicious circumstances surrounding her unexpected [sic] Hana is understood to have been depressed recently and there is increased concern for her welfare and safety.

Anyone who has seen or heard from Hana, or who knows anything of her whereabouts is asked to contact Sussex Police on 999 or 101, quoting Sussex serial 483 of 15/07.

Dial 999 if you see this woman

Either the above report time sighting is wrong, or her sister got time wrong.

So she Face Timed her mother at 9.30pm that night - when she should have been on coach en route to Czech - but she didn't say where she was or why she wasn't coming?

I've just been looking at the Police press release, which says this: "She was wearing a green coat to her mid thighs, blue jeans and was carrying a large black suitcase, a black hand luggage bag and a brown handbag." That sounds like a visit rather than a relocation imo. There is definitely some confusion about timings though, as the police say she arrived at Charing Cross at 9.49am. I wonder if it's as simple as the CCTV camera at Charing X not having been moved on to BST. That comes up again and again in cases and is really unhelpful!

Concern for missing Hana Solarova from St Leonards

I too would have taken the number 11 bus from Charing X to Victoria coach station rather than the tube, but whichever it was, you would think there would be some further CCTV to show whereabouts on the journey she stops showing up (and who else is around at that time). If the Charing X CCTV is an hour out, I wonder if scrutiny of onward CCTV has been done for an incorrect time window. Sounds crazy but it wouldn't be the first time.

JMO.

Concern is growing for a woman who's gone missing on a journey to the Czech Republic from her home in Hastings.

Hana Solarova, who's 43, has been missing since July the 11th, and there's now increasing anxiety about her welfare and safety.

She was originally from the Czech Republic, but has been a UK resident for twelve years, mainly in the Hastings area.

Just wanted to say I know this might seem strange and I cant say about Czech Republic but I know these buses also do journeys to Poland and are quite a popular way of travel amongst Polish people from the UK I myself have had family members use them instead of a flight
