Posting on her Instagram, Haydn’s sister, Megan Griffiths, shared a photograph of the two thanking those who helped her, and her family look for him.

She said: “Haydn’s army stand down.


“Thank you all so much for your love, support, positivity, hope, and determination.


“Haydn’s body has revealed itself. I prefer to think of it as a shell where his soul once lived.

We are organising a memorial tribute in unity of love. Shining a light for healing by candlelight for Haydn Griffiths.

“Derby pool New Brighton, Bayview Drive, Wallasey CH45 3QS (car park) on Monday, August 1 at 6pm.

“All are more than welcome to attend as a show of love and moral support for Haydn and his family. Let’s remember him with love.

“Please bring candles and loving memories that you have shared with Haydn. There will be music from his favourite bands.”

Haydn started his day going to the gym - about 4pm and said I’m popping out and that he was going to the beach with someone.

They swam out to the windfarm - the tide turned and they started to come back.

The current was against them.

A huge jellyfish swam past her and stung her leg - Haydn complained that something had hurt both of his legs.

The pair kept swimming, but Haydn, who was advanced in sea survival and diving, said he felt ‘tired’.

Haydn told her to carry on swimming back to the beach and get help.
